Our German friends have a treat this coming Sunday (November 25th). Nick Mason is interviewed in London by SWR1's Bob Murawka about his cars, Pink Floyd, and what the future might bring. You can catch the interview between 10 - 12pm, and you can find out more information about it (and SWR1 itself) over at www.swr.de. (Thanks to our friends at Bruder Franziskus and Pulse & Spirit for the info).

Some advance notice for our US readers - our friend Jeff Touzeau (a writer, a producer and the owner of a New York studio) has written a cover story for EQ (a US audio magazine) on Pink Floyd's The Piper at the Gates of Dawn (December issue, on newsstands imminently).
It features an extensive, exclusive interview with Norman Smith (producer) on the topic (he doesn't talk about this subject much) as well as some very rare photographs of Syd during recording of Vegetable Man in De Lea Lane studios around October '67. It also features exclusive insight from both Joe Boyd and John Wood (producer/engineer respectively of Emily, Arnold, others...) on the Sound Techniques sessions. More info on the magazine at www.eqmag.com soon.

Coming to VH1 Classic TV in the US from Monday, December 17th is the excellent BBC/VH1 co-production, "The Seven Ages Of Rock". The seven part documentary series aired in the UK back in May 2007, and was a real treat for the music fan.
In particular, the second episode featured Pink Floyd heavily. With rare, vintage clips (one or two of which haven't even made it into the "unofficial collector's" realm) and new interviews with all the band members, it really is one to watch!
For those who want a flavour of the show, we have clips of the show for you, plus some more information on some of the Floydiness you will see, along with a run-down of ALL the episodes...

Tomorrow, November 15th, sees the official publication date of "The Black Strat: A History Of David Gilmour's Black Fender Stratocaster", written by Phil Taylor - David's equipment technician and studio manager. With a cover designed by Storm Thorgerson (click thumbnail to the right), and an incredible feast of rare pictures and info inside, it promises much for both the guitar aficionado, and the general Pink Floyd fan alike. Having chatted to Phil recently about this, the book sounds an essential purchase, and if you don't believe us, just take a look at the example pages over at the newly launched www.TheBlackStrat.com, which went live this evening!
Whilst Amazon stores are listing this truly Strat-tastic book, the limited edition tome can only be ordered directly from the special website and is now taking orders - so hurry to secure yours. Amazon won't be getting stocks, so don't bother placing an order with them... We'll be reviewing the book very shortly, so check back here soon!
