Normally, we don't bother bringing you the various press ads for Pink Floyd-related releases.
However, Capitol Records in North America have concocted a very special ad for the recently released 40th anniversary edition of the Floyd's first album, The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn - and we had to share it with you!
A very nicely done, suitably psychedelic treatment, which was published in a recent issue of Rolling Stone. [Click the thumbnail to see it larger]

Many of you will recall our story from June 23rd, giving an update on the new charity project that saw some 30 musicians designing Gibson Les Paul guitars. The project, Gibson Guitar Town London, hopes to replicate the success of a similar project in Nashville, Tennessee in 2005, which raised over $300,000 for local charities.
Those involved in the project include Nick Mason, Phil Manzanera, Roger Waters and Gerald Scarfe, to give it a healthy Pink Floyd connection!

A new interview at RollingStone.com has David Gilmour looking into what the future might bring. Whilst
ruling out a Pink Floyd reunion ("I can’t see why I would want to be going back to that old thing. It’s very retrogressive. I want to look forward, and looking back isn’t my joy. I can’t really see why I would want to [do it], unless I wanted a big boost for my ego or a big boost for my bank account, neither of which I need that badly.") he doesn't rule out future solo material.
Making the entirely reasonable comment that he wants to spend time with his family, after so much effort
on the OAI/RTN project, he said: "I’ve done an awful lot of stuff, so while I’m definitely going to get back to it one of these days, do another record and some more gigs, there’s not that sense of urgency."

Nick Mason's superb 'Inside Out: A Personal History Of Pink Floyd' has just been published in Russia. The Russian version is called: Вдоль и поперек: Личная история «Pink Floyd» (in English, this translates as 'Far & Wide: A Personal History Of Pink Floyd').
A limited edition, hardback edition of 5000, the 472 page book (with plenty of photos) costs a very reasonable 10 euros. The translation is by Mikhail Kondratiev. Our thanks to Petrovich from our friends pink-floyd.ru.

Now 28 years since Pink Floyd recorded Another Brick In The Wall, BBC1 TV's One Life programme takes a look at the story of the 13 comprehensive school kids who bunked off classes for the afternoon and recorded the anthem. The BBC catches up with them at a school reunion and discovers what happened that day, and what happened to their lives. Could be interesting...
This airs on BBC1 TV on Wednesday, October 3rd at 10:40pm-11:20pm. UPDATE: Read an interesting article/interview with the grown-up subjects of the programme on the BBC website.
