Pink Floyd's "Relics" album cover was designed by drummer Nick Mason, and according to him is the only concrete product of his years at architecture school in the Regent Street Polytechnic. When the album was released on CD, former Hipgnosis partner Storm Thorgerson had a real-life version of the contraption on the cover made and presented it to Nick. It still resides in Nick's office.

Now, thanks to a very special, high quality limited edition, you can own a print of Nick's intricate Heath Robinson-esque contraption, personally signed by Nick as artist AND artiste! Click the thumbnails to the left to see the pictures.

Our friends at St Paul's Gallery have an exclusive on this - there's just 195 worldwide, and they've got them all. And with the special Brain Damage offer giving free shipping on all Pink Floyd items there, we can save you a bit on this very nice item! Click here for the print...

David Gilmour - happy birthday! Print E-mail

David Gilmour smilingOur very best wishes to David Gilmour today, for it is his 62nd birthday! Many happy returns, David.

This day two years ago saw the release of the On An Island album, and the first performance of the tour (at his party) that concluded many months later, kicking off his 60th year in style. This year will hopefully see the release of the Gdansk concert recording from the same year, a very special show in front of 100,000 at the historic Polish shipyard, which we're sure that David is working hard on to ensure it is as good as it can be.

more german dvd la vallee german dvd zabriskie point german dvd

This month in Germany sees the release of two movies, very hard to find on DVD, that feature specially written music from Pink Floyd. The legendary Barbet Schroeder film More, and also La Vallee (Obscured By Clouds), get their European DVD release on March 20th.

A third important film from the same era, Michelangelo Antonioni's Zabriskie Point, has only ever been officially available on DVD as a limited Russian edition. That changes on April 17th, when it is released by Kabeleins, completing the trio neatly.

Great news for Floyd fans who have been searching for these on DVD! The DVDs can be ordered from Amazon Germany, who will ship them worldwide, through these links: MORE, LA VALLEE, ZABRISKIE POINT. (Thanks to Hans Gerlitz for the info!)
