STORY UPDATED! Last night (Saturday, November 17th) BBC Radio Two aired the first, hour-long part of a two-part documentary looking at the 40th anniversary of Pink Floyd.

Days In The Life features the four members of the classic Floyd line-up - David Gilmour, Nick Mason, Roger Waters and Rick Wright - telling their own story via a series of new interviews. And it was a cracker!

Tomorrow, November 15th, sees the official publication date of "The Black Strat: A History Of David Gilmour's Black Fender Stratocaster", written by Phil Taylor - David's equipment technician and studio manager. With a cover designed by Storm Thorgerson (click thumbnail to the right), and an incredible feast of rare pictures and info inside, it promises much for both the guitar aficionado, and the general Pink Floyd fan alike. Celebrating the 40th anniversary of Pink Floyd and the unique relationship between the band and artist, the new exhibition “Mind Over Matter: Images of Pink Floyd” (details below) travels through time revisiting those significant moments in their musical history. To mark the occasion, the exhibition - which opens on Friday - will have on display for the first time ever, all the creative results of musical and artistic collaboration between Pink Floyd and Storm Thorgerson...

David Gilmour's managament has revealed that some very interesting, one-off rarities have been donated for auction. The 17 items will be offered on the eBay website from Monday, November 19th, at 5pm UK time, with staggered finish times and all the proceeds from the sales will go to Crisis. This is the homelessness charity that David is vice-president of, and is a very worthy cause.

Andrew Page, Director of Fundraising at Crisis said, "We are very grateful to David for the huge support he gives to Crisis. The money raised from the sale of these items will support our work fighting homelessness and our projects which empower people to transform their lives."

Items will include signed proofs of the various 'Remember That Night' DVD artworks including alternate versions that weren't used (click the thumbnail for examples of these), as well as a signed photograph of David with David Bowie.
