Italian film director Michelangelo Antonioni passed away on Monday night aged 94. He is best known to Pink Floyd fans for his 1970 movie, Zabriskie Point, where the band provided a number of songs (many unreleased officially) for the soundtrack, in legendary sessions that Nick Mason wrote about in his book Inside Out.

Since appearing on the UK branch of Amazon yesterday, sales of the limited 3CD package of Pink Floyd's seminal 1967 debut, The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn, look set to easily eclipse the competition. Sales of the 2CD edition are steady, too, despite the added value of the 3CD set.
The much anticipated release (full details here) has shot many thousands of places up their sales charts, and could become one of their summer best-sellers. It is also selling strongly in North America and other regions. Don't miss out - place your order now!

All of us here at Brain Damage would like to extend our very best wishes to
Richard Wright, who today, 28th July, celebrates his 64th birthday.
Richard was born in Hatch End, London, in 1943, and whilst at the Regent Street Poly, met Roger Waters and Nick Mason, which lead to the formation of Sigma 6 in 1963, the band that developed into Pink Floyd... Over the years, Richard has made a unique, unforgettable contribution to the band's music and overall "sound".
Many happy returns, Richard!
