Symphonic Echoes of Pink FloydIn the Netherlands or Belgium in September and fancy something a bit different? Between September 8th and September 22nd, the award-winning NNO (Noord Nederlands Orkest), which has roots leading back to 1862 (the oldest orchestra in the Netherlands today), perform Symphonic Echoes of Pink Floyd. mr musicheadVisitors to a Los Angeles art gallery this autumn will be in the running to win a one-off airbrushed car or Les Paul guitar, as part of Pink Floyd's 40th anniversary celebrations.

Storm Thorgerson, who designed most of Pink Floyd's iconic album art, will premiere a new exhibition of his work and launch not one, but two books at Los Angeles' Mr Musichead Rock Art Gallery in October.

The Mexican guitar duo Rodrigo y Gabriela played Wish You Were Here at the Glastonbury Festival last night, to which the crowd sang most (if not all) of the words... UPDATE: The BBC website, for a limited time, allowed you to see their performance through a streaming video. Unfortunately, this footage is no longer available there. guitartown Many of you will recall our story from January 9th, revealing that Nick Mason is amongst the 30 musicians who have committed themselves to a new charity project, designing Gibson Les Paul guitars! The project is called Gibson Guitar Town London, and hopes to replicate the success of a similar project in Nashville, Tennessee in 2005, which raised over $300,000 for local charities.

Others involved include Phil Manzanera and Gerald Scarfe, to further the Floyd connection!
