Storm ThorgersonThe wonderful Storm Thorgerson, Pink Floyd's album cover designer through most of their career, was the subject of a fascinating interview in The Times yesterday.

Tying in with his stunning, and essential, new book, Taken By Storm (more details below), the interview touched on a number of subjects, not least talking of a couple of suggested Pink Floyd projects that will excite many if they come to fruition!

Interesting "thanks" on new Rush album Print E-mail
Written by Matt
Sunday, 29 April 2007

snakes and arrowsWe know many of you are interested in that great Canadian band, Rush. They are just releasing their new album (supposed to be superb) called "Snakes and Arrows", and we hear that amongst the "thank yous" in the credits is one for our own David Gilmour.

We've done some digging to find out why, and it turns out David chatted with Alex Lifeson about writing using acoustic guitar (download an interview clip here). Alex then used that conversation to encourage himself to use acoustic in writing the new S&A songs. (Our thanks to Eric from Power Windows, and to Bert)

Roger WatersWith Roger's 2007 Dark Side Of The Moon tour astonishingly already at its half-way point (where has the time gone?!) we'd just like to send out a heartfelt thanks to everyone who has helped out so far with comments, pictures, reviews, information, and more.

Our tour coverage has proved to be by far one of the most popular areas of this site, and your contributions have made it possible!

For those who are going to the remainder of the shows (between now and July 14th), have a great time and don't forget to tell us your thoughts on what you've seen and heard!

Aussie Floyd ticket competition - winner drawn Print E-mail
Written by Matt
Wednesday, 25 April 2007

Our competition to win a pair of tickets to one of the Australian Pink Floyd Show's upcoming concerts closed late Wednesday night, and the lucky person drawn from the many correct entries (the answer was, of course, David Gilmour's 50th birthday party which had them playing their show for him!) was: Miriam Jones, from London, who will be seeing the band at the city's historic Royal Albert Hall. Well done Miriam and better luck next time to the rest.
