Nick Mason in Classic Cars Magazine Print E-mail

Taking time out from writing books, appearing in reunions, and such like, Nick Mason has put Pink Floyd duties to one side to devote a little time to his other love - motor cars.

Nick undertook an interview for the August 2005 issue of Classic Cars magazine, which has just gone on sale in the UK.

Pink Floyd donate Live 8 profits to charity Print E-mail

Pink Floyd's David Gilmour has called on his fellow Live8 artists to give any profits they make from the show to charity, quickly responding to the huge boost in sales that all artists (with the exception of Pete Doherty, who's sales actually slumped following the show) have received this week.

In a statement, David said: “Though the main objective has been to raise consciousness and put pressure on the G8 leaders, I will not profit from the concert. If on Thursday the G8 leaders tick the right three boxes at Gleneagles then the main objective will have been fulfilled...

Pink Floyd and Prog Rock Q/Mojo special Print E-mail

Next week should see another Q and Mojo Magazine special edition hitting the shelves of your local magazine emporium.

The special, called "Pink Floyd and the Story of Prog Rock", is a thorough look at the whole genre, promising a lot of coverage of the Floyd alongside their peers during the progressive rock era.

Pink Floyd steal the show at Live 8 Print E-mail

Hopefully many of you managed to catch at least the majority of Pink Floyd's amazing set at the London Hyde Park Live 8 concert last night.

With the concert overrunning two and a half hours past its extended finish, the band didn't manage to hit the stage until around 11pm, but it was worth the wait. Many reports in the media attested to the fact that the Floyd, reunited for this one, special occasion with Roger Waters, were one of the bands that stole the show at Live 8.

Despite the late running of the show (which was to eventually finish at midnight last night), the band performed their complete rehearsed set of Breathe/Breathe Reprise, Money, Wish You Were Here, and Comfortably Numb. And what a performance!
