We've been contacted by MusicToday, who are now selling a huge range of Pink Floyd merchandise in conjunction with the folks at Anthill, the Floyd's official merchandiser, with details of the range they currently have on offer.

Roger Waters - Rome "Ca Ira" concert Print E-mail

As we've reported before, there have been many comments regarding a performance of Roger Waters forthcoming opera "Ca Ira", in Italy.

Today, in Rome, it was announced that the Auditorium Parco della Musica in the city would be staging the performance on November 17th. The organisers said that it would be performed by 100 members of the Rome Symphony Orchestra, along with an 80-strong choir, some of which will be children (who feature in the piece). They also noted that Roger himself may conduct. And, just to make it official, Roger's manager confirmed to us that this was the case.

We have a general wrap-up of smaller news items today, relating to various publications and Pink Floyd activities, and start with an amusing and somewhat unexpected one!

The UK-based betting firm, William Hill, have opened up a series of books on the 2012 Olympic Games, being held in London. Among the bets is: "Who will be Number One" in the UK singles charts at the time? They list Pink Floyd as second favourites at 50/1! Maybe they know something we don't?! It is really quite funny. Thanks to Kevin De Ornellas for letting us know about this!

New Storm Thorgerson artwork on Dark Side book cover Print E-mail

In our previous news stories about John Harris's eagerly anticipated book, "The Making Of The Pink Floyd Masterpiece, The Dark Side of The Moon" (most recently on May 1st), we've just been sent the final cover image by the publishers.

The hardback book is an indepth analysis of the album, and is due for release at the end of September/start of October. It has been designed by Storm Thorgerson and his team, and the highly detailed cover is typical of their great work. The glass marble casting a shadow will no doubt be cause for much debate!
