Floyd track on John Peel tribute album Print E-mail

Last year, British broadcasting legend John Peel passed away whilst on a working holiday in Peru. Peel had championed new and exciting music for almost 40 years, earning the respect of all parts of the music industry. We have news of a tribute album, out next month, that includes Pink Floyd's "Set The Controls" as part of the selections included.

Roger Waters "Ca Ira" updates and interviews Print E-mail

With Roger Waters' new album, "Ca Ira" being released in a week's time (read our exclusive, full review here on the site), we have a few news items for you.

The "lavish first edition digipack" includes the full opera on two hybrid SACDs (playable on normal CD players), with a bonus of "Ca Ira - the DVD" (of which we will be bringing you something very special in the next 24 hours or so, a nice exclusive extract!), and a 60-page four-colour booklet containing the libretto, cast credits, and original illustrations.

Guy Pratt - first London West End show Print E-mail

We recently had the pleasure of interviewing bassist Guy Pratt, who was in Edinburgh staging a very successful one-man-show looking at his long musical career, which has involved working with such artists as Michael Jackson and Madonna.

Recently described as "Pink Floyd's bass player for when the band are arguing", he has worked with them since 1987, in the studio and on the road.

Guy has been back in contact with us. On the back of the extremely positive reaction to the run of dates in Edinburgh, which had a number of sell-out shows, he has told us of his first West End show...

Nick Mason's "Inside Out" book/audiobook news Print E-mail

We last told you about the paperback and audiobook CD of Nick Mason's excellent book, "Inside Out: A Personal History of Pink Floyd", back on 14th June, which are both due for release next month.

Nick Mason is doing the final mix of the CD this week, so at last we can come out with the inside story for you!
