Roger Waters Ca Ira interview updates Print E-mail

The last couple of days have seen a couple more television interviews with Roger Waters, relating to his newly released opera Ca Ira.

The first of these was an interview, recorded in New York on Tuesday, and broadcast on Thursday, on US based news channel CNN. You can launch the interview, running just under five minutes, by visiting their website.

Gilmour on "Tribute To The King" DVD - win a copy Print E-mail

This coming week sees the release of "A Tribute To The King", a DVD which features a concert performed behind closed doors at London's legendary Abbey Road Studios, last November, celebrating 50 years of rock'n'roll, and we have three copies to give away to BD visitors!

Gilmour on "Tribute To The King" DVD Print E-mail

Those of you with good memories will recall a couple of news stories at the tale end of last year (most recently, on 14th December), concerning David Gilmour taking part in a special concert held at London's legendary Abbey Road Studios, to record a a celebration of 50 years of rock'n'roll.

David's part of the show on 3rd December was a performance of "Don't" accompanied by Bill Wyman's Rhythm Kings. The concert, helmed by Scotty Moore, guitarist for Elvis Presley for the recording of That's Alright, Mama, which has been taken as the official starting point of rock'n'roll in 1954, included Ringo Starr (The Beatles), Keith Richards, Ron Wood and Bill Wyman (the Rolling Stones), Mark Knopfler, and the aforementioned Mr Gilmour. The show was recorded in high definition for release on DVD this year, and we have just received full details of this!

Roger Waters Ca Ira interview updates Print E-mail

We've got a bunch of new Roger Waters interviews for you today, all relating to his newly released opera, Ca Ira, two of which you can download to listen to at your leisure.

The first of these was broadcast on US public broadcasting station WNYC yesterday. Their daily show Soundcheck show looks at all aspects of music, and for this show, Roger came into their studios for a fascinating chat about the genesis of the project, the use of sound affects and the influence of his past work, and the forthcoming Rome concerts.
