Guy Pratt - first London West End show Print E-mail

Tuesday, 20 September 2005

We recently had the pleasure of interviewing bassist Guy Pratt, who was in Edinburgh staging a very successful one-man-show looking at his long musical career, which has involved working with such artists as Michael Jackson and Madonna.

Recently described as "Pink Floyd's bass player for when the band are arguing", he has worked with them since 1987, in the studio and on the road.

Guy has been back in contact with us. On the back of the extremely positive reaction to the run of dates in Edinburgh, which had a number of sell-out shows, he has told us of his first West End show...

Pink Floyd - no reunion tour in 2006! Print E-mail

Tuesday, 20 September 2005

The reunion of Roger Waters with Pink Floyd for the Live 8 concert in July, has driven the rumour mill into top gear, yet again. With the fine performance from the band, coupled with comments made by various members (in particular, Roger Waters) that a further get-together isn't totally out of the question, various offers have been made to the band to tour again.

In Sunday's UK newspaper, The News Of The World, they printed a report that Pink Floyd would be touring next year, culminating in shows in London.

David Gilmour's PR representative quickly got in touch with the newspaper, and us, to scotch this latest rumour. She advised that, contrary to the story, Pink Floyd are definitely NOT touring next year, and have no plans to do so. Should anything be actually announced, you know you'll find it here at Brain Damage!

Thursday, 08 September 2005

Last night, Roger Waters was subject to an interesting interview with BBC Radio 2's Stuart Maconie. Lasting around 17 minutes, the interview was chiefly concerned with Roger's forthcoming opera, Ca Ira (including mention of US performances), but also explored the reunion with Pink Floyd for the Live 8 concert, back in July.

The discussion of Ca Ira had Roger talking about it at length, from the genesis of the project (including comments about French leader of the time, Francois Mitterand, and his reaction to an English bass player doing a piece about the French Revolution!) through to fruition - its release later this month.
