Back in May 2004, we brought you the news that Brain Damage had been contacted by Mark Sturdy over at top UK music magazine Mojo, after help from us and all of you!
He has been commissioned by the magazine to write a piece on former Pink Floyd frontman Syd Barrett's career around 1971-1973 - in other words, his last couple of years in music. The main emphasis will be on his band Stars, but also he is chasing up various other little stories such as his alleged collaborations with Steve Took and Jack Bruce.

Antonioni's classic Zabriskie Point, which famously enlisted the help of Pink Floyd to provide music for the score, is receiving a rare airing on UK television this week.
Stories from the recording sessions are legendary, with the band indulging in fine food and wines, before strolling down to the studios, producing music that was described by Antonioni as "beautiful...but too sad!"

With Roger Waters wonderful operatic work "Ca Ira" being released this week in most countries tomorrow and Tuesday (read our exclusive, full review), we have an update for our French visitors.
Stores in France will not be stocking the album until October 10th, which we believe is due to production difficulties. However, our French readers should find "Ca Ira" worth the wait!

We reported on 3rd September of the publication on November 3rd of "Drawing Blood: Forty Five Years of Scarfe Uncensored", an eager-awaited book that sees highlights of Gerald Scarfe's career compiled into a lavish hardback book.
The book promises to be a feast for all Floyd fans, due to his extensive work with the band, over the years. Gerald's PA has also told us that the book features a few illustrations from The Wall which haven't been seen before - alongside the five decades of incredibly varied work he has done for all sorts of people and publications.
To coincide with the release, there are a number of events lined up...

It has been confirmed that Pink Floyd's David Gilmour is amongst artists who have contributed their time and efforts to a tribute single for the late John Peel, British broadcasting legend. The cover version of "Ever Fallen In Love (With Someone You Shouldn't Have Fallen In Love With)" includes Robert Plant, Roger Daltrey, Jeff Beck and New Order's Peter Hook.
