London exhibition of Storm Thorgerson's Pink Floyd photography this year Print E-mail

Despite the preparations for his US exhibition tour, plans are afoot for legendary Pink Floyd cover designer Storm Thorgerson to present a separate show, highlighting his photographic work for the band, at a London gallery this coming winter.

Nick Mason Looks to the future of Pink Floyd Print E-mail

Pink Floyd are not calling it quits just yet, according to longtime drummer Nick Mason in a new interview with RollingStone.com, the internet arm of the long-running magazine.

They report that, despite no new tour or material since The Division Bell in 1994, Mason maintains that the Floyd are currently keeping their options open. "Last year [David] really had no interest in revitalizing the band," Mason told Rolling Stone. "But I think it's interesting that he also hasn't declared it over. No one has actually said never again."

Nick Mason's great new book "Inside Out - A Personal History Of Pink Floyd" is selling well in various countries, and is available in the US this spring. To coincide with this, Nick will be doing a number of interview and book signing sessions across the country this month, and we have the very latest updates on Nick's current hectic US schedule, including an additional book signing date!

Pink Floyd Tsunami fundraising raffle - winners announced Print E-mail

Since the Pink Floyd Tsunami raffle appeal was launched in January, the response has been enormous, with well over 100 prizes being donated in a few short weeks, from fans, the performers management teams, and other concerned parties who wanted to help out. We have been knocked out by the incredible generosity of a number of people worldwide, those buying tickets helping out a truly worthy cause, and potentially grabbing a superb prize!

Donations and the issuing of tickets closed on March 31st. The draw was conducted on Saturday April 2nd at 9am Brisbane Australia time, and the winners are shown below. Funds contributed will be handed over to World Vision on April 14th. An announcement about the total amount raised will be made then.

David Gilmour at Fender Strat Pack - concert DVD release details Print E-mail

Further to our last update on February 23rd on the forthcoming Fender Strat Pack show DVD, we have some more news for you of this much anticipated title. The show, on September 24th 2004, which featured Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour alongside a whole host of top musicians at the London Wembley Arena, was a charity event in aid of Nordoff-Robbins, and celebrated 50 years of the Fender Stratocaster guitar.

The concert alone raised £175,000 (around US$330,000) for the music therapy charity, and the DVD is expected to swell this figure dramatically, as it is also being sold in aid of the charity.
