Last night (25th October), Pink Floyd was one of the specialist subjects that contestants were quizzed
on, in the long-running BBC test of knowledge, Mastermind, and we've got the questions here so that you can see how you measure up!
For those of you unfamiliar with this show, there is a full description of the format and rules over at www.BBC.co.uk. In a nutshell, four contestants take it in turns to answer questions over two rounds,
against the clock. The first two-minute round comprises questions on each contestant's chosen specialist subject, and the second two-minute round tests general knowledge.

David Gilmour is the cover feature of the December 2005 issue of the UK's Guitar & Bass Magazine, out today. The magazine runs an extensive article, to celebrate David's 60th birthday, by looking at "sixty reasons why you should love Pink Floyd's legendary guitarmeister".
In a well thought out piece, with few factual errors, the magazine looks at all aspects of his life - from his early stab at modelling, through to recent events such as the Strat Pack show and the Live 8 reunion. The piece, under the headline "Diamond David", has a nice selection of pictures, including a great full page shot of him at the July concert.
We know that a number of you are keen on any articles in magazines and newspapers, so will be keen to get hold of a copy of this. In UK magazine stores from today, you can also get it directly from the
publishers. Back issues can be bought through mags-uk.com, or by calling 01733-385170 (+44-1733-385170 from outside the UK).

Back in 1985, Nick Mason released an album in collaboration with Rick Fenn. Called "Profiles", it didn't trouble the album charts worldwide for too long, despite the quality of the music within. To promote the album, a single - "Lie For A Lie" - was released, that featured David Gilmour's guest performance on it.

Nick Mason and Roger Waters were recently interviewed for Italian magazine, Famiglia Cristiana (Christian Family), in which they are asked about a future reunion, and specifically refer to a peace effort for the Middle East.
Their reported comments are brief, and nothing should be read into them - there are no plans for any shows. However, it is good to hear that they are not discounting the possibility of future collaborations, should a good cause and opportunity present itself.
