In a departure from our normal sort of news, there are a couple of petitions currently running which are gathering pace and interest - one related to the London Underground of all things, and the other to the commemoration of forty years since the release of Pink Floyd's first album, The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn...

As many of you are aware, there are Pink Floyd tribute bands and shows
across the world, bringing good music (played with varying degrees of
success!) to local pubs, clubs and halls. With the sheer number of
them, it is impossible to provide coverage of these bands, but
occasionally there are rare exceptions.
We know that many of you enjoy the Australian Pink Floyd show, and
they are currently on a huge tour of the UK. They are also playing in
Sweden shortly. Taking in UK venues that will be well known to the
Floyd fan, they are even playing at the same venue in Manchester as
Roger Waters himself will be in May - a testament to their success.
And we've got a pair of tickets to the show of your choice to give away!

UK record company Redline Records (part of Cherry Red) have just
released "Re-Building The Wall", a superb 2CD set of some of the
biggest progressive and rock musicians interpreting and reconstructing Roger Waters' conceptual masterpiece, Pink Floyd's epic 1979 album.
Featuring almost a complete "who's who" of musicians on the various
tracks (from bands such as Yes, ELP, Jethro Tull, The Doors, and many
more), it is a blistering, yet faithful, tribute to the original classic album - a very enjoyable experience.

Some of you will recall our story from November 9th last year, concerning Nick Mason helping out the Children In Need charity.
Ian Doyle and Mike Ridley, who do a lot of freelance work publicising
the Royal International Air Tattoo, RAF Fairford, Gloucestershire, have
sent us an update on this story.
Nick, along with Bruce Dickinson (vocalist with Iron Maiden and part
time commercial B757 pilot), are due to make a short appearance at the
world's largest airshow this summer. They have agreed to transport the
winners of the BBC Children in Need Royal International Air Tattoo
competition to RAF Fairford Gloucestershire in July 2007, and we have
more details of what this will entail...
