roger waters - helloNew Line have announced the DVD release of the movie, The Last Mimzy. As many of you are aware, Roger Waters wrote and performed a new song - "Hello (I Love You)" - specifically for the film (more details here of the CD single). The DVD, which will be in US stores on July 10th, features all the normal bells and whistles one expects with modern DVD releases, but of interest to Roger's fans is the good news that the promo video for the song, which shows Roger in the studio recording the song, will be included amongst the extras. Orders for the DVD can be placed through Amazon.com and Amazon.co.uk soon. (Our thanks to Kees Nijpels for the info!)

snakes and arrowsWe know many of you are interested in that great Canadian band, Rush. They are just releasing their new album (supposed to be superb) called "Snakes and Arrows", and we hear that amongst the "thank yous" in the credits is one for our own David Gilmour.

We've done some digging to find out why, and it turns out David chatted with Alex Lifeson about writing using acoustic guitar (download an interview clip here). Alex then used that conversation to encourage himself to use acoustic in writing the new S&A songs. (Our thanks to Eric from Power Windows, and to Bert)
