Mason & Wright: we want Floyd to perform again Print E-mail

In two seperate interviews, both published yesterday in UK newspapers, Nick Mason and Richard Wright both expressed their wishes that Pink Floyd would perform together live again.

With all the recent activity, not least the release of the PULSE DVD that showcases the band's 1994 Dark Side show, both band members talk about how good it would be to play together again.

David Gilmour, Richard Wright and Nick Mason reunited as Pink Floyd for the launch of the Pulse DVD at the Vue cinema in London’s Leicester Square last night (Tuesday July 3rd). The event was attended by executives from EMI, music journalists (including your very own Brain Damage!) and Floyd luminaries including Phil Manzanera, Dick Parry, and Guy Pratt, alongside Storm Thorgerson and Peter Curzon, who were responsible for the packaging and DVD design.

We've heard today that the proposed Kiev, Ukraine concert on July 8th is not going ahead, as despite the promoter selling tickets, the show was never confirmed. The promoters themselves are now stating that the show has been cancelled.

Last night, London's Hyde Park (scene of Live8 a year before), saw another great performance from Roger Waters and his band, aided and abetted by Nick Mason, who added his drumming expertise to the performance of Pink Floyd's 1973 classic, Dark Side Of The Moon.

In today's Times newspaper in the UK, former Pink Floyd frontman Roger Waters talks candidly about his past and present career, his thoughts on music in general (with specific comments about Abba, the Swedish pop supergroup of yesteryear, and the release of Pulse on DVD), and reveals how he is providing direct help to a Senegalese village.
