Due to the differences in time zones, our sister site, A Fleeting Glimpse, has started its special celebratory giveaway already. This is to mark December 23rd - the 40th anniversary of founder Col's first Floyd concert! There are giveaways all day, so stop over there now and you might be in with a chance!

 The musician, poet, songwriter, composer, designer and all-round good chap, Ron Geesin, celebrates his 63rd birthday today. Our heartiest congratulations, Ron!
Many of you will know Ron's work with Pink Floyd on Atom Heart Mother, and more specifically with Roger on the movie, and subsequent album, Music From The Body. If you like those, do check out his other work - he is a unique talent, and has entertained us (and many others) for many years.

 The presale of tickets for Roger's show at the River Plate, in Buenos Aires, Argentina, starts on Monday, December 18th. From midnight, www.ticketek.com.ar will be selling them to registered Ticketek users, as long as they pay with a Visa credit card. If you want to take advantage of the presale with a Visa Electron debit card, you need to go in person to any Ticketek point of sale in Argentina. From 10am on Monday, the sale of tickets over the phone and at points of sale starts. Our thanks to Trish and Martin for this info.

Tickets for Roger's Buenos Aires show at the River Plate Stadium, on
March 17th, go on presale tomorrow (Thursday) exclusively for Visa
credit card holders. This is 48 hours prior to the public sale of
tickets which will start on Saturday. More details can be found over at
the Ticketek.com.ar website. (Thanks to Trish and Claudio for the info!)
UPDATE: Ticketek have, at the last minute, postponed the sale of tickets, and the revised date that these are going on sale should be with us shortly.

 The
UK's homelessness charity Crisis, of which David Gilmour was made a
vice president back in 2003, is auctioning off a pair of signed Pink
Floyd giant eyeballs, one of only ten pairs, as used on the cover of
the recent "PULSE" DVD. This is to help raise much needed funds for the
homeless this Christmas.
David said: "The eBay auction will not only raise much needed funds for
the charity, but will also raise awareness of the plight of the
homeless at a time of year when they are most vulnerable".
