Roger Waters In The Flesh DVD up for SMA Award Print E-mail

Roger's DVD of the In The Flesh tour was nominated for "Best Made for Surround" title in the First Annual Surround Music Awards, held on December 13th and 14th. More details are available on the Surround Pro site, where hopefully the results will be available shortly. Roger's DVD was one of five titles in that category.

 
Nick Mason makes appearance on BBC motoring show Top Gear Print E-mail

Nick Mason had a small cameo appearance on BBC2's Top Gear programme last Sunday (December 8th), where he was stopped by passing motorist Jeremy Clarkson (Top Gear presenter) and asked directions! David Gilmour interview in Classic Rock magazine Print E-mail

The Christmas 2002 issue of Classic Rock magazine features a five page interview with David Gilmour. Accompanied with a few pictures, most of which being pretty common shots, there were a few definite highlights that came out of the interview, which was conducted in September 2002.

"EMI... and me" Pink Floyd segment Print E-mail

The BBC documentary, "EMI... And Me" (see the news item from last month for more details) featured a short Pink Floyd segment. Following a passage talking about the Beatles "Sgt Pepper" album, the show then entered its "Hippie Hippie Shake" segment.

Starting with a bit of footage of a '67 outdoor "happening", with a youth looking remarkably like Roger relaxing with a young lady (see picture, left), and a voiceover commenting that the rise of psychedelia had meant "EMI [were] frightened of being left behind", the sounds and visions of the Look Of The Week Astronomy Domine performance appeared. Roger Waters to appear on Ringo Starr song Print E-mail

Pink Floyd co-founder Roger Waters will be featured on a new song recorded by Ringo Starr. The song, which is still without a title, is a tribute to the late Beatle George Harrison. The new number was co-written by Eric Clapton, and will appear on Starr's next album, set for a March 2003 release on KOCH Records.

There was also a strong rumour that Roger would be appearing at last night's George Harrison tribute concert at London's Royal Albert Hall. Prior to the show, Mark Fenwick, Roger's manager, confirmed that Roger was NOT appearing...
