Stevenson Entertainment have announced a set of "action figures" based on animations from the film, "The Wall". The seven-inch figurines will each come with a piece of wall - get all the characters and build your own wall! The series consists of: the eagle warplane, the marching hammers, the Judge, the Schoolteacher, the Scorpion (Pink's wife), and Pink himself. The figures, which have required the OK of Roger Waters, will not be available until the Autumn (around October).
Hugo Stevenson, of Stevenson Entertainment, has given us some more information on the action figures:
"We actually haven't begun sculpting the figures yet, but are targeting this fall as a release date on the initial line of 5 action figures. Series 1 will consist of the following:
- Eagle warplane
- School Teacher
- Judge
- Marching Hammers
- Scorpion and Pink"
It is interesting to note that this is series 1 - wonder what follow-on series will bring? The pig? Lightbulb Man? The Welcome To The Machine monster? Or will they look at other characters from The Wall? Anyway... pricing information and where to get them from, will be here as soon as we have it.

European music trade publication MusicWeek is reporting that Roger is working on a new surround sound mix of his legendary 1990 concert, The Wall Live In Berlin.
The concert, held on July 21st 1990 on Potsdamer Platz at the site of the old "no-mans-land" by the original wall (and above Adolf Hitler's bunker), was in aid of the Memorial Fund set up by the late Leonard Cheshire. All rights and royalties from the project were passed to the Fund in perpetuity. It is hoped that it will be available towards the middle of this year. More info, of course, as we have it...

Courtesy of EMI Records Canada, thirty copies of a David Gilmour collectible have been made available at a charity auction in aid of the Los Angeles Marathon and The Lung Association of America.
It's a copy of David's live DVD, with a VHS insert signed by David. Check out the GoBidLaMarathon.com website to place your bids. With thirty available, that gives you a good chance of getting one!

Further to the Mojo piece mentioned earlier, which features a couple of interesting shots of Roger with a trumpet, our friends over at darkside reminded us that when Roger visited Moscow during the In The Flesh tour, he took a few trumpet lessons from the famous Russian jazz saxophonist Igor Butman.
Roger said that he took them as he planned to play the trumpet at the "end of tour party" (which was held in Dublin) for band members and friends. You never know, maybe we'll hear his trumpet playing on Ca Ira (the Overture of the piece, when performed at the Royal Albert Hall in London, included a trumpet part).

The new, March 2003 issue of this great UK magazine features an interesting four page interview with Roger, together with some pictures of him with a trumpet! Many of the questions are fairly general, good for the general readership but not that insightful for the long-term fan; the most interesting response is to a question about what Roger is up to these days:
"I'm making a rock'n'roll album. It's about a conversation in a New York bar, and one of the characters is a taxi driver from the Balkans, and his marriage is falling apart... I've recently got divorced, so there's some songs about the breakdown of relationships and... I'm not quite sure how it will all turn out, but as you can hear, it's another kind of loony concept thing. My other project is the opera about the French Revolution. I've recorded about 18 minutes of it with three soloists, a big orchestra and a chorus. It's proper music, not a rock record".
