Roger Waters is one of the artists lined up to perform at Cries From The Heart, a charity event being held on Sunday, June 8th. Organised by Human Rights Watch, the annual event is now in its sixth year. Performers read poetry, prose, reportage and testimonies gathered by Human Rights Watch researchers from victims and survivors of the abuse.
This year's show, being held at the Theatre Royal Haymarket in London, promises a powerful evening of words and music. This year they "give voice to people from around the world who face tyranny – personal or political – in their daily lives". In addition to Roger, performers include George Alagiah, Simon Callow, Julie Christie, Joanna Lumley, Ian McKellen, Antony Sher (co-patron), Patti Smith, Juliet Stevenson, Patrick Stewart, Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Richard Wilson.
UPDATE [June 5th]: Roger's manager has just confirmed to us that Roger will be taking the stage with his son, Harry, who will be playing the piano to accompany his father on a special version of Leaving Beirut.
The show is scheduled to start at 7pm and tickets are now available via www.criesfromtheheart.co.uk.

Two items in the media relating to David Gilmour have seemed to cause much excitement and a flood of emails to our inbox over the last few days. Nothing should be read into either story, with one of them actually having David playing down the chances of another reunion, and the other, relating to the Glastonbury Festival, that should be taken with a pinch of salt! We're making mention of both here to hopefully put things into a little perspective...

Those who have bought tickets for the Sunday evening Atom Heart Mother concert, being held at London's Cadogan Hall on June 15th, will have an added bonus to what already promises to be a very special event.
We've now had it confirmed by his manager that David Gilmour will be making a guest appearance at the show helmed by his old friend Ron Geesin. He'll be performing on the epic 1970 track, alongside the Italian band Mun Floyd, cellist Caroline Dale (who has worked with David before), the brass ensemble, and the 40-strong chorus Canticum, all of whom will be playing the piece in front of a rapt audience!

In today's New York Post they report that "guests of the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center Spring Ball on Thursday [May 29th] will have the chance to bid on a round of golf with Pink Floyd's Roger Waters and golf icon Raymond Floyd in Southampton." A keen golfer, Roger will no doubt give the winner a good game!
Alternatively, if your fancy goes more towards unwieldy inflatables, or have the room to display such an item in all its glory, check out this item on eBay. It is for one of the late 1980's era porkers. With a starting price of $11,999, and in need of a little repair before it becomes airborne again, it is certainly an unusual item for someone's collection...
Our thanks to Wayne Shelor and to Nigel for the info above.
