VH1 in the US this past Monday started airing the "I love the 70's" special that covers the decade and the popular culture of the time; each year is broken down into one hour segments.
Wednesday night saw the 1973 segment, where "Dark Side of the Moon" was discussed and there was a small clip of David Gilmour during the 70's, along with other current celebrities such as Joe Elliot of Def Leppard discussing the impact of DSotM on their lives. The show will be rebroadcast throughout the week - check your local listings. Our thanks to John Woods for this heads-up.

We have been contacted by Travis, the leader of Bricks In The Wall. They are a 10 piece Floyd tribute band based in Dallas, Texas (USA), with 2 guitarists, 2 keyboard players, 3 backup singers, a sax player, bass and drums. They are playing a special performance of DSOTM this weekend, August 23rd, in celebration of the forthcoming DVD/VHS "Classic Albums" release.
They were contacted by Eagle Vision, who are the distributors of the title, to do the show, which is being held at Manhattan's in Arlington, Texas. Apart from the band playing, there is also a screening of the video, along with prizes of the DVD to be won.
The band are also planning to do a full musical and theatrical production of The Wall, having actors portray the scenes from each song, which should take place in March 2004... Check out their website at www.bricksinthewall.com.

We have been fighting our way through the many entries to our competitions to win a copy of More on DVD, and John Cavanagh's Piper book. Loads of entries, most of which were correct. Well done!
Here are the winners, who will receive their prizes direct from the nice people at the BFI (More DVD) or Continuum Publishing (Piper At The Gates Of Dawn book):

Last night (Saturday August 16th) saw a rather unusual inclusion in the Portobello Film Festival, held in London. Shown was the nearly 30 minute electronic press kit (EPK) that EMI produced for the Dark Side Of The Moon 30th Anniversary edition, and exclusively hosted here on Brain Damage on EMI's suggestion.
The last screening of the night, most people didn't bother sticking around for it, therefore missing a great bit of film! Our thanks to Jon Gilbert who alerted us to this!
