The new issue of the well respected Record Collector magazine is now available in the UK. This long-running monthly looks at all aspects of the collectors scene, and has featured Pink Floyd and solo projects on many occasions.
The May 2003 issue includes a feature on the greatest psychedelic albums, and of course, amongst the likes of the Beatles and Hendrix, Floyd feature. There's also an interview with David Gilmour, looking at life before, during, and after Pink Floyd...

The UK TV station, BBC2 (also available across Europe via satellite) is showing a special documentary on Dark Side Of The Moon, on Sunday May 4th, as part of their "Classic Albums" series. It is not yet known if this is the same documentary that is being released on DVD soon (see earlier news). The programme starts at 10:30pm (UK/BST) and runs for 50 minutes.

The BBC2 TV programme TOTP2 (Top Of The Pops 2) concentrates on old performances and videos from their archives. The show on April 22nd (repeated the following evening) at 6:20pm, includes Pink Floyd performing Money. The song is the fourth one in the programme, between Kool and the Gang, and Badfinger! Our thanks to David Haddock and Rollinder for letting us know about this one.
UPDATE, April 22nd: The show featured the backdrop film for the song "Money" in full. A nice surprise, and fairly unexpected. Presumably getting things rolling for the Classic Albums programme coming soon (see below) - finger's crossed for more footage like this (but hopefully rarer).

Tor, from Norway, was reading about Dark Side's chart position in England on this site, and thought it might interest you all to know that the week it was released, Dark Side entered (or rather re-entered) the Norwegian top 40 at number 9. And it has now climbed to number 7. Not at all bad for a 30 year old album!
It also made a re-entry when Echoes was released (and as you know, the back catalogue re-released) and thus Pink Floyd had 2 albums on the top 40 there. That was perhaps even more impressive, because even though it was a lower position, it was just a regular re-release. Thanks to Tor for this interesting analysis.

A new documentary on the album "Dark Side Of The Moon" is nearing completion and will be released on DVD on June 30th.
Details of what it includes are still quite sketchy, but it is believed that there is live footage from 1972 and 1973. There is credence behind these inclusions, as the DSOTM EPK (found here on this site!) includes David Gilmour playing some of "On The Run" from Brighton in 1972. They played three shows at the Brighton Dome in that year, including January 20th, which was the first public performance (if curtailed due to technical issues) of Dark Side.
More info on this title as we have it. Thanks to Charles at Floydstuff.com for the head's-up!
