To celebrate the twenty-first anniversary of its release, The Final Cut is getting a polish and being
re-released in a freshly remastered format. Whilst we expect further confirmed details in the next few days, it seems that the remaster may also include "When The Tigers Broke Free" as a bonus track, and slightly revised artwork.
The new version is scheduled to appear in the US, on Capitol Records, on April 20th; in Europe on EMI Records, on March 19th, and EMI will also be releasing the UK version, although the release date has not been confirmed. EMKA, the band's management, told Brain Damage today that the date is imminent and they will be providing us with more details about this release in the next day or so.

They are currently auctioning 341 items on eBay to raise funds - most of which are doodles, one of which is a drawing of a car by Nick Mason, on the reverse side of an official National Doodle Day card. The Baltic News Service have reported today that representatives of Pink Floyd are not happy about the illegal use of their song, "Another Brick in the Wall," in a video clip made by Latvia's Russian education defenders against the government's reform program. The video apparently features scenes of protesters outside a venue where Alvaro Gil-Robles, Commissioner for Human Rights, is speaking, with the Floyd track playing in the background.
The statement about the band's view on the use of the track was made by Latvia's MicRec music publishers. MicRec is an affiliate of EMI Music Publishing, and is the Latvian division of the record label. More details here.
