Storm Thorgerson update Print E-mail
Written by Matt
Sunday, 23 November 2003

We've had a large number of concerned enquiries as to the current condition of Storm Thorgerson. We are in contact with a close personal friend of Storm's, who has been visiting him in hospital on a weekly basis. Storm is still in a London hospital, and his friend said: "he is in reasonably good spirits; there's certainly no problem with his intellect which is as sharp as ever!"

There is no definite date for him to leave hospital yet. We asked his friend to pass on everyone's continued good wishes to Storm... take care Storm, we're thinking of you.

"What Got Wants" gorilla dying Print E-mail

The BBC news website has another sad story for Roger Waters fans. The rare albino gorilla, called Snowflake, who appeared in Roger's video for "What God Wants", and who has enchanted visitors to Barcelona Zoo for decades, is dying of skin cancer. Snowflake has been at the zoo since being captured by a hunter in Equatorial Guinea in 1966. He is believed to be 38-40 years old - around 80 in human terms. He is expected to live for only a few months. Vets have known since 2001 that the albino gorilla has the disease, but it has suddenly progressed.

Snowflake (Copito de Nieve in Spanish) is thought to be the world's only living white gorilla. "Being albino, he's very sensitive to the sun," said the zoo's chief vet, Jesus Fernandez. "Though we've tried our best to protect him this is an incurable, progressive disease, and it will follow its natural course. We don't know how long he'll live, but probably not more than a few months." The zoo has promised to ensure that Snowflake has a "dignified death".

Firstly, Brian at Vagabond Music in South Africa has posted his review of Roger's first gig on the 2002 In The Flesh tour, at Cape Town, which includes many good pictures of the show. Click here for his review - well worth a read!

For a selection of live shots, including the 1980/81 Wall concerts, and Roger Waters solo shows, MusicFoto.com have a number of great shots that can be purchased - ideal Christmas presents? (Hint hint!)

Nick Mason magazine interview in Automobile Magazine Print E-mail

There is a very interesting article, with some great photos, on Nick Mason and his involvement with cars in the December issue of Automobile Magazine.

The interview by Mark Gillies covers the extensive range of exotic (and some not so exotic!) vehicles at Nick's disposal, and shows a small selection of them he has stored at Ten Tenths. One of the pictures in particular is very good - catching Nick in the wing mirror.

Our friend Zubair has scanned it in and converted it to a PDF file. You can download it here...
