Tuesday, 31 August 2004

We've had an update today from the editor of the forthcoming Q/Mojo Magazine Pink Floyd special, which we reported on back in July. You may recall, they wanted to find out the fans all time top 20 Pink Floyd songs, and asked for your lists to be emailed over to them for compilation.

With the magazine undergoing its finishing touches - in around 10 days, the presses will start rolling - they have given us some information about the contents. Roger Waters and Nick Mason have both been interviewed (separately) exclusively for the publication, as have dozens of past collaborators and friends of the band.

They have assured me, though, that a fantastic job has been done with the concert on what will be a two-DVD set. Initially there were some technical issues with the transfer, but these have been resolved, and they have promised us full details courtesy of the people involved in the transfer.

In an interview with former Pink Floyd front man Roger Waters prior to the Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival, and noted in our report of the concert, Waters made mention of a possible appearance at a charity show this summer. The interview in the August edition of the Hampton Jitney Magazine had the following comments:

"Well, I may be doing a couple of songs with Don Henley, who is a pal of mine, at the Huggy Bear Benefit this summer."

Thanks to this morning's New York Post, we now know that the concert, a private affair, was held last night at Tony Forstmann's Cobb Road estate in the Hamptons.
