We received the news today that Roger Waters will be making two new tracks available soon on the internet, for his fans to download. The two songs, called "To Kill The Child" and "Leaving Beirut", might well be from his forthcoming rock album, due soon (possibly next year now), but might be tracks that he has decided to offer as additional to those that will be found on his new album.
The tracks will be available soon via Roger's own website - RogerWaters.com, iTunes, Sony Connect and other legal digital download sites. The tracks should be available within the next two weeks.
Not having heard the tracks yet, we can only surmise that "Leaving Beirut" will be based on the lyrics Roger quoted in an interview on Icelandic television in July last year, and transcribed elsewhere on this site. We will of course let you know when the tracks are available...

In June this year, she worked with Roger at his home studio in England, with fellow singers Katie Kissoon and Carol Kenyon, on two or three songs. One song is about Iraq, where Roger compares the Iraq of his youth, to the Iraq of today. This song is reminiscent of 'Perfect Sense' but with three backing vocalists.
