Pink Floyd The Wall - forthcoming US HDTV broadcast Print E-mail

We have been contacted with the news that US television channel HDNet have scheduled six special showings of Alan Parker's 1982 movie, Pink Floyd The Wall.

HDNet is a national channel which broadcasts all of its programming in 1080i HD, the highest-quality format of high-definition television (HDTV). Their HDNet Movies division converts 35mm prints to HD format, providing possibly the highest quality and most detailed versions of films - in excess of the detail that DVD provides. So, for all of those lucky souls with HDTV, it should be the best way of viewing Bob Geldof and co. relating the story of Pink.

Two new Roger Waters tracks - update Print E-mail

Further to our recent items regarding the news that Roger Waters will be making two new tracks available soon on the internet, for his fans to download, we have some updates for you.

Firstly, we understand that, despite the delays there have been in getting it on to certain sites, including Roger’s own Sony website - RogerWaters.com, the i-Tunes website, and other legal download services, they should be available within the next week. We will keep a close eye on this for you.

Roger Waters at Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival Print E-mail

As mentioned previously on the Brain Damage news pages, this year's Bridgehampton Chamber Music Festival (which runs until August 21st) was including a special show, yesterday evening, to include a couple of selections from Roger Waters' forthcoming and long-awaited opera about the French Revolution, Ca Ira. Not only were selections performed, but there was a very special guest - Roger himself!

The event, run at a small Presbyterian church in Bridgehampton, New York, is an annual event held in a beautiful chapel, and is a mainly local audience for the music. Roger himself has a home in the area, which goes some way to explain his support for the event.

This morning's edition of various publications, including The Hollywood Reporter, talk about the deal that has just been struck to bring Pink Floyd's seminal album The Wall, created by Roger Waters, to the theatre stage in New York City's Broadway.

Major Storm Thorgerson exhibition announced Print E-mail

A major exhibition of Storm Thorgerson's fantastic work has just been announced. This represents the first showcase of Storm’s artwork since his stroke at the opening night of his Paris Pink Floyd "Interstellar" exhibition last year (reviewed in detail elsewhere on this site).
