Pink Floyd were amongst the legends who received a nomination into this year's UK Music Hall Of Fame. The band were included in the line-up for the list of artists from the 1970's, alongside acts such as David Bowie, Stevie Wonder and The Clash. The induction ceremony for all of the winners is being held tonight (Sunday 14th) in a live programme on Channel 4 TV channel.

The UK Music Hall Of Fame is being run by the television channel, polling the public for their favourite musicians of all time. Each week, a different decade was chosen for the public's deliberation.

We now know the acts that will be inducted tonight, in a ceremony taking place at London's Hackney Empire. Firstly, the artists who got automatic entry into the Hall of Fame:

The Beatles
Bob Marley
Elvis Presley

And, here are the winners of each decade's categories, as voted for by the public:
1950s - Cliff Richard
1960s - The Rolling Stones
1970s - Queen
1980s - Michael Jackson
1990s - Robbie Williams

In the 1970s, Queen won by a huge margin, beating Abba into second place, and Pink Floyd came third, which wasn't too bad considering the stiff competition in that decade's line-up.

None of the Floyd's attended the ceremony, having decided some weeks ago not to attend (due to other commitments, etc). And, of course, there is always next year!
