New edition Pink Floyd Encyclopedia - win a copy! Print E-mail

As reported back in December the new, third edition of Vernon Fitch's essential "Pink Floyd Encyclopedia" will be out shortly - it is due to be published in April 2005 by Collectors Guide Publishing Inc, the book is the guide to pretty much anything you need to know about the band. And we have a copy to give away in our latest competition - read on for more details...

Nick Mason donates one-off Pink Floyd items to charity Print E-mail

Pink Floyd's Nick Mason has joined a host of stars from the world of sport, stage and screen worldwide, for the Tsunami International Celebrity Fashion Auction which runs until 23.59hrs GMT March 13th 2005.

The auction, launched on February 10th, is being run by The Clothes Agency. The celebrities have donated items that have meant something to them during their lives and to help us raise funds for those who were so horribly affected by the disastrous Tsunami. There are nearly 100 lots altogether – but not everything will be visible from the start - they will be adding things throughout the month, so check back on a regular basis to discover the new additions to the catalogue!

Listen to Nick Mason reading "Inside Out"! Print E-mail

We can now bring you news of another version of Nick Mason's excellent new book, "Inside Out: A Personal History Of Pink Floyd" - one that might surprise you!

Coming on CD on October 6th 2005 is the audiobook version of "Inside Out". Expected to clock in around the three hour mark, the book is read by Nick himself. Naturally this should mean an abridged version of the text, but we expect that there will be snippets of music included, either in the background during key sequences, or between "chapters".

Pink Floyd get flower named after them Print E-mail

Pink Floyd have had the unusual honour of a flower being named after them! Flower naming is a complicated business, and it is rare for new "versions" of flowers to be given such names. It is the first flower to bear their name.

David Gilmour at Fender Strat Pack concert - DVD update Print E-mail

Further to our last update in January on the forthcoming Fender Strat Pack show DVD, we have some more news for you of this much anticipated title. The show, on September 24th, which featured Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour alongside a whole host of top musicians at the London Wembley Arena, was a charity event in aid of Nordoff-Robbins, and celebrated 50 years of the Fender Stratocaster guitar.

The concert alone raised £175,000 (around US$330,000) for the music therapy charity, and the DVD is expected to swell this figure dramatically.
