The new issue of the US edition of Rolling Stone - issue 1158 - includes an interesting, one page Q&A with Roger Waters.
Naturally, the initial thrust of the short interview is the current tour of The Wall, which is heading towards its conclusion in July with the huge concert in Quebec. Roger gives an insight into his movements after the "Tear down the wall", talking about how he preps for the return to stage for Outside The Wall.
The most interesting comments come when asked what happens after this tour. "On the last leg, I started writing a new song that may be the key to at least one more album. It's called 'If I Had Been God'. I think I'm prepared to stick my head above this parapet - at my age, I care more about the truth and less about being shot at. I'm concerned now with extremist religious groups of all denominations." In previous interviews over the years, Roger has often mentioned songs or themes supposedly forming the bases of new albums, all of which seem to have come to nought. Hopefully, this one really will happen...
Our thanks to Stephen Humphries and our own Elliot Tayman for their help with this story.

As you may know, the Aussie Floyd are a band with a very long history with Brain Damage, having travelled to the UK especially for our first International Fan Convention held at Wembley in 1993. Since then, we know that loads of you have enjoyed their successive tours. We are pleased to
bring you the news that they are set to return to the UK in February 2013 with another brand new show. The series of 19 shows across the UK in February and March are expected to be their biggest yet, and come at a time when the reissue programme from Pink Floyd has reawakened interest in the band.
Tickets for their 2013 "Eclipsed By The Moon" European Tour go on sale at 10am on Friday (May 25th). The tour will celebrate the iconic The Dark Side Of The Moon but will also include many other classic tracks during the show. The tour, which includes a prestigious show at the O2 Arena in London, will feature a brand new format and set-list, but no other clues as to the presentation have been revealed.
To find out where - and when - you can catch the show, read on...

In 1975, David Gilmour took time out from his Pink Floyd duties to guest on a track off David Courtney's album, First Day. The track itself, When Your Life Is Your Own, is now being released on a new album appearing on the Angel Air label, on June 11th. The album - The Show Must Go On - collects together some of his hits from yesteryear and it also includes guest appearances by Paul McCartney and Adam Faith.
Whilst not necessarily a household name, Courtney is an internationally acclaimed songwriter and record producer having over the past 35 years achieved Platinum, Gold and Silver discs representing the millions of records he has sold worldwide as well as receiving ASCAP awards and a Grammy nomination. Other artists he has worked with include Roger Daltrey, Jimmy Page, Eric Clapton, Gene Pitney and Ritchie Blackmore.
The album can now be pre-ordered through Amazon UK, Amazon.com (US), or Amazon Canada. Other Amazon stores also have this listed but as an expensive import, whereas it would be cheaper to use one of the above, and you'll probably still pay less even after shipping costs.

The Roger Waters 2012 Wall tour has been thrilling audiences in each city it has stopped in so far, and it is clear the show is getting ever better as it carries on its travels. Word of mouth has ensured ticket sales have remained correspondingly high, and thus for a number of venues it has been hard for some to secure tickets.
In my many years with Brain Damage (since the mid-80s) one of the biggest things that has made it a pleasure to devote my spare time to, has been you - those who visit, read, participate and help. It's made a huge difference, and I've made many great friends over the years. The generosity of spirit at times has been overwhelming, and another example has just come along. Someone in the US (you know who you are) has very kindly donated a pair of tickets to see Roger in Indianapolis, on June 11th, 2012 specifically to help towards the running costs of Brain Damage.
The seats are situated in section 213, row 16, of the Conseco Fieldhouse in Indianapolis, and we (the benefactor, and us) thought the best way to allocate the tickets to a BD visitor who wants these is to invite offers via email, between now and 2pm GMT Monday, May 28th, with the highest bidder getting the tickets (once payment via Paypal has cleared). Tickets will be sent certified mail and will require a signature for delivery. There's no minimum bid, so you might get your hands on these tickets for a very low price (although it would be useful to get some sensible offers - hosting fees and equipment costs all add up).
Please email
This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
with your offer for the pair of tickets, and the highest bidder received by the closing date will be notified that afternoon to make final arrangements. Our thanks again to the person who has gifted these tickets!

Music retailer HMV is running a special online poll at apps.facebook.com/hmvjubilee which concludes today to find the best British album from the last 60 years to celebrate the Jubilee and the Olympic summer with Pink Floyd obviously being among the artists. In the poll you are presented with a shortlist - of which Floyd have been allocated two spaces, for The Dark Side Of The Moon, and Wish You Were Here - and you can select up to five of these. There's a separate poll for British films, too.
Whilst it would be good for as many as possible to vote Floyd to ensure some of the lesser entries don't win, there's also an incentive to entry: there's a prize to be given away to participants of all sixty albums (or all sixty films) to be won, as well!
The poll is open to all registered Facebook users, and with the voting closing today, you'll need to be quick...
