Tonight (Tuesday) and repeated on later dates (check local listings for details) VH1 in the US are continuing their "I Love The 80s Strikes Back" series with 1982, which includes coverage of the film of The Wall. As yet we don't know what the coverage will include, but more details of the episode can be found on the VH1 site. Our thanks to Kerry for the heads-up!

The final part of our analysis of the new "Pink Floyd: Live At Pompeii" DVD, together with the second and concluding part of our extensive and fascinating interview with director Adrian Maben, is now available for you to read. As a side note, Adrian was amused when I told him of the strange coincidence occurring today: on the day of release in the UK of the DVD, the BBC are showing a dramatisation of the final days of Pompeii!

Thanksgiving Weekend Floyd radio celebrations Print E-mail

We've just heard that US radio station XM channel 40 (Deep Tracks) will be broadcasting seven hours of Pink Floyd on Thanksgiving weekend (November 29th, 30th) to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Dark Side Of The Moon album. The specific timings will be announced later.

The show will include tracks from the BBC live material, excerpts from the new Dark Side DVD, and more. Our thanks to Debashish Mallick for the advance notice!

Our friend Adrian Maben, director of Pink Floyd Live At Pompeii, gave us a call this evening with an update on Storm's progress. In a nutshell, it is hoped that he will be able to travel home to England very soon - perhaps next weekend. We continue to offer our thoughts and prayers at this difficult time...

 
Roland Petit Pink Floyd Ballet - 2004! Print E-mail

Legendary French choreographer Roland Petit, a veteran who has worked with greats like Rudolf Nureyev and Fred Astaire over a 60-year career, has just announced his latest work, to be performed at the NHK Hall in Shibuya, Tokyo in February, 2004. "Pink Floyd Ballet" was originally performed with Pink Floyd in 1972-73, and has been handed down from generation to generation. It has also been seen in Dirk Sanders 1977 film of the event.
