We have been contacted with the news that the Pink Floyd "Autumn Campaign" is to start in the UK on September 13th. This is a special promotion, slashing the prices of all their albums - pre- and post- Roger Waters - to almost half in some cases.
The two exceptions are the Shine On box set, and the SACD of Dark Side Of The Moon. These remain at full price. Everything else, including the (so called!) limited edition special version of Is There Anybody Out There, gets a nice reduction, making it the perfect time to fill any gaps in your collection.
Solo albums are NOT included in the offer, which ends October 22nd. Coincidentally(!), this means the offer is running around the same time as Nick Mason's Inside Out book comes out, handy for record stores who are thinking of cross-promoting the book with the albums...

We've had an update today from the editor of the forthcoming Q/Mojo Magazine Pink Floyd special, which we reported on back in July. You may recall, they wanted to find out the fans all time top 20 Pink Floyd songs, and asked for your lists to be emailed over to them for compilation.
With the magazine undergoing its finishing touches - in around 10 days, the presses will start rolling - they have given us some information about the contents. Roger Waters and Nick Mason have both been interviewed (separately) exclusively for the publication, as have dozens of past collaborators and
friends of the band.

Further to previous news items about the long-awaited DVD release of Pink Floyd's 1994 concert recording of PULSE, we have been in frequent contact with the band's management about the progress.
When we last spoke a week ago, they were still optimistic that all the loose ends would be tied up for what would probably (or indeed hopefully) be a late October release. Previously, they were aiming at a date at the start of that month, but a few problems became clear that have resulted in the slippage. They have assured me, though, that a fantastic job has been done with the concert on what will be a two-DVD set. Initially there were some technical issues with the transfer, but these have been resolved, and they have promised us full details courtesy of the people involved in the transfer.
