Nick Mason on his forthcoming book, "Inside Out: A Personal History Of Pink Floyd" Print E-mail

Further to our previous news items about Nick Mason's long-awaited, and much anticipated, book about Pink Floyd, called "Inside Out - A Personal History", to be published on September 9th, we now have a short passage from Nick himself explaining how the book developed and his thoughts on the content... makes interesting reading! Nick Mason at Goodwood Festival of Speed Print E-mail

Last weekend (June 25th-27th 2004) saw Pink Floyd's Nick Mason making his annual pilgrimage to the wonderful Goodwood Festival Of Speed, which is held on Lord March's front lawn in Sussex. The event involves the finest vehicles from all over the world coming together with the finest drivers, who drive up a hill trying to miss hay bales and stone walls, whilst trying to beat the time set by others.

David Gilmour on new Phil Manzanera album Print E-mail

As we first reported to you on 2nd April, Phil Manzanera releases 6PM, his new album, on July 19th on Hannibal Records. 6PM follows on from the critically acclaimed Vozero, released in 1999, and features many of Phil's close musician friends, notably the 'Roxy' trio of Eno, Mackay and Thompson, with David Gilmour, Robert Wyatt and Chrissie Hynde. The album features 12 original tracks written and sung by Manzanera.

Korn covers Pink Floyd Print E-mail

The rap-rock band Korn have recorded, in May this year, Pink Floyd's Another Brick In The Wall to be part of their greatest hits compilation, to be released this autumn/fall. The band have been playing the song, actually all three parts played together, in their recent European shows - and you can hear the June 23rd performance by downloading this compressed file. The band's Jonathan Davis said "We tried it in Hannover, Germany. Kids were out there throwing their Xs up, from the movie. It was surprising to see how many young kids know Pink Floyd and know all the words to that song.

"Pink Floyd's an amazing band, they always set a mood. The movie 'The Wall' is amazing. There were three versions of it on the original album, so we made it into one long song with 'Goodbye Cruel World' at the end." The Pink Floyd classic was produced collectively by Korn for the album.
