Further to previous news items, we can now bring you news about the forthcoming book "Pink Floyd The Wall: In The Studio, On Stage and On Screen", to be published by Reynolds & Hearn on Tuesday May 4th.
The book features the story of Pink Floyd's legendary album from inception, as a multi-million
selling album, through the live concerts, to the film starring Bob Geldof as Pink. Included in its 144 pages are a number of rare, previously unpublished stills, to accompany Jeff Bench and Daniel O'Brien's text. (Please note that this is not the book being written by Pink Floyd Encyclopedia author Vernon Fitch, of which we are hoping to have more news on shortly.)
A review of the book will be on this site soon... along with a competition to win a few copies, thanks to Marcus Hearn.

The official Pink Floyd website - www.pinkfloyd.co.uk - has just received an update to include some
goodies relating to the 2004 remaster of the 1983 album, The Final Cut.
Most importantly, the long out-of-print VHS video EP featuring The Gunners Dream, The Final Cut, Not Now John and The Fletcher Memorial Home promo videos, has been made available again, this time as streaming video on the site. Picture and sound quality is pretty good, especially if you have a fast link to the site, and it is good that these have been unearthed. Of course, it would have been better to have a bonus DVD with the 2004 Final Cut CD, like many artists are now doing...
They also have made available the promo to When The Tigers Broke Free, which features clips from the film of The Wall. Finally, there is a brief description of the reissue, which has been adapted from the press release.

The official Phil Manzanera website reports that the guitarist, who has worked with Pink Floyd and David Gilmour on a number of occasions, has been hard at work working on no less than three new albums!
The highlight for Floyd fans will be the first of these, entitled "6PM", which will be released in early July 2004. Phil has written all twelve tracks and has had quite a few friends drop by adding their talents to the album: Chrissie Hynde on vocals and harmonica, Robert Wyatt, Brian Eno, Roxy Music's Andy McKay and none other than Mr Gilmour!

Last night (April 1st), David Gilmour appeared amongst a galaxy of stars, as part of the Jools Holland And Friends show for the Teenage Cancer Trust, at London's Royal Albert Hall. The Pink Floyd guitarist joined such luminaries as Jeff Beck, Ronnie Wood, soul legend Solomon Burke, Ruby Turner, Tom Jones, Chrissie Hynde, the Velvet Underground's John Cale, and many others, in a rousing three hour show, taking in forty songs along the way!
