We are pleased to participate in a major Pink Floyd fundraising effort for the Tsunami victims, which has now been launched by Col Turner, of our sister site A Fleeting Glimpse. Here's your chance to make a difference and assist those less fortunate than ourselves.
Floyd fans can now contribute any unwanted Floyd memorabilia to a monster Pink Floyd raffle. The raffle, to be held online, will raise funds that will be donated to the victims of the Boxing Day Tsunami disaster.
This is your chance to clean out your cupboards and in the process assist a worthy cause.

Last night (January 15th) saw former Pink Floyd frontman Roger Waters performing a wonderful melancholic version of "Wish You Were Here" acoustically with Eric Clapton, with the help of backing singers Katie Kissoon, Carol Kenyon and PP Arnold, as part of NBC's charity gala, Tsunami Aid: A Concert Of Hope.
The performance, which was not shown live, having been pre-recorded at the NBC studio in New York City, featured Roger and Eric sat on stools, playing acoustic guitars, with the lyric delivered in a quiet and almost mournful style which suited the occasion perfectly. Eric chose to simply play guitar, and the subtle backing vocal of Katie, Carol, and PP, complemented the respectful reading of the Floyd classic.

Further to our news stories concerning this evening's charity gala, Tsunami Aid: A Concert Of Hope, which includes a specially recorded performance by Roger Waters, we have some more information on the show for you.
Of principal interest is the news that many of the performances will be able to be purchased via the internet as downloads. This will be from the Sony Connect site (which also has a European counterpart) and it is believed that Roger's performance will be one of those made available. The downloads should be on their site soon after the show, but we don't have an exact time frame for you.
More performers have been added to the line-up, which will be shown without commercial breaks interrupting the vital fund-raising attempts. A similar TV benefit carried by all four primary US TV networks after the 11th September terror attacks raised more than $150m (£80m). Amongst the new names in the show are Brad Pitt, Robert De Niro, Natalie Portman, Andy Garcia, Lucy Liu, Sir Elton John and Hugh Grant.

We were contacted last night by Pink Floyd's management, to let us know the latest on the
long-anticipated release on DVD of the live concert video, PULSE. The release of this title is clearly uppermost in many minds, based on the number of emails we've received over the Christmas and New Year period, asking us what the latest is on it.
