75knebWendy Bannister, wife of the legendary concert promotor Freddy Bannister, has contacted us with details of a very special prize they are giving to one lucky Brain Damage visitor!

As many of you will know, they have put together some very special box sets, collecting together high quality reproductions of rare memorabilia, and relating the true stories, from the various concerts they put on in the late 1960s and throughout the 1970s.

Adrian Maben gets career award Print E-mail

This week, legendary film director Adrian Maben visits a film festival in Italy to receive a career award.

Adrian has had a long, productive career. Within the Floyd community, he is best known for Pink Floyd Live At Pompeii, in its original cinema released format, and the two subsequent expanded versions, and for the DVD which accompanied the double CD set of Roger Waters' opera, Ca Ira.

Painting of Syd up for auction Print E-mail

Mark's painting of Syd Back in October 2004 we reported on the then-forthcoming US and Canadian Region 1 release of the "Pink Floyd & Syd Barrett Story" DVD. The DVD featured wonderful all-new cover art, shown to the right.

The cover was designed by acclaimed British artist Mark Wilkinson (who produced covers for the likes of Marillion, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and many others), and he has got back in contact with us.

He is having an online auction during the month of October, selling some original paintings including the Syd painting.

"Pink Floyd: The Early Years" book Print E-mail

A superb new book focusing on the formative years of the Floyd is being published at the end of October this year.


"Pink Floyd: The Early Years" has been written by Barry Miles, which will be a familiar name to many Floyd fans, having penned "The Visual Documentary" - a book which for many years was a standard reference to the group. Miles saw the band play when they were still called "The Pink Floyd Sound" and he wrote the first ever article about them for a New York underground newspaper in 1966.

Published at the end of August in Europe (in Canada, September 5th, and the USA, October 2nd) was a new addition to the bookshelves. Toby Manning's "Rough Guide to Pink Floyd" is the latest title from the publishing group which made their name through informative, impartial travel guides, and we have three copies to give away!
