This afternoon, Nick Mason turned up on Danny Baker's BBC London radio show to talk about the Pink Floyd studio album box set - which was released today in the UK. The two of them had a very entertaining, twenty-five minute natter, covering a lot of ground, particularly the early days of the band.
At times hilarious, others thought-provoking, it is an essential listen, and can be heard on demand for the next seven days using this link at www.BBC.co.uk (with Nick's part starting one hour into the show). Our thanks to Jeff Frost for the info!

We've been alerted by a few of you that the US Amazon.com store has seemingly completely sold out of its allocation of Pink Floyd's studio album box set, Oh By The Way!
The box set is a limited edition of 10,000 worldwide, and it looks like most of these have been snaffled up in pre-orders. So, if you want to give the set pride of place in your own home, you'd better act quickly! You can still order it from: Amazon UK, Amazon Canada, Amazon Germany, or Amazon France, all of whom will ship the set internationally, if you live in a different country.
UPDATE, December 12th: Amazon.com have just got a further, small supply of the box set, and are offering it again on their site.

You may recall our news story from July 25th, reporting that the Playbox Theatre in Warwick, in collaboration with the Oxjam Music Festival, were staging a new production of Pink Floyd's The Wall in November. The ambitious production was a success, raising much needed funds for the charity Oxfam.
Roger Waters' manager Mark Fenwick, and stage set designer Mark Fisher, both assisted with this new production, as did our friend Mark Cunningham who lent his own expertise as the show's production consultant. Mark runs the excellent Total Production International magazine, and he has given us as a BD exclusive his article on the event. Click here to download the 2.8MB PDF file.

With the eagerly-awaited release of the Pink Floyd studio album box set, Oh By The Way, at the start of this coming week, EMI have posted a three-dimensional look at it, complete with Comfortably Numb as the soundtrack. You can view it here (although it does seem VERY busy at the moment, so you might have better luck over the weekend).
If you haven't ordered your set yet, and are thinking of doing so, please consider using our special Amazon links to make your purchase. It won't affect the amount you pay, but will be a big help towards the costs of running BD. You can order it through: Amazon UK, Amazon US/International, Amazon Canada, Amazon Germany, or Amazon France.

An update to our story about The Simpson's Movie character, Spider Pig, and the attempt to stage a tribute to Pink Floyd's Animals album cover. The local Brain Damage team reported on how bad the weather was, and as you can see from the following YouTube clip, it proved too much for the porker...
