We know many of you are keen players of the console games Rock Band and Guitar Hero, and often ask when Pink Floyd tracks will appear as part of the games. MyGamer.com posted a story yesterday (April 1st) saying that an announcement had been made of a Pink Floyd version of Rock Band, to be released at the end of the year.
The date of the story, and the breadth of the band's career covered, made us very suspicious of this story, so we checked with the company that makes the game to have it confirmed as a well-informed piece of April Fools Day fiction! Sorry to disappoint the gamers out there, who were already getting very excited by this!

Last Friday, Pink Floyd's Nick Mason officially launched his high quality, limited edition signed print of the Relics album cover. And, thanks to our friends over at the venue - St Pauls Gallery, in Birmingham - some Brain Damage regulars were in attendance at what turned out to be a very special evening.
The print itself has attracted a lot of interest, and for those who want to snap up their copy before they all go (there's just 195 worldwide!), don't forget that it qualifies for free shipping using the special Brain Damage/St Pauls Gallery offer (more details here).
Other than the picture to the left from Phil Geraghty, we've had some reports and a number of good photos from the event, from BD regulars and from the tired but happy staff at the gallery who worked hard to make it a success...

As we told you last Tuesday, Ron Geesin is recreating Pink Floyd's 1970 classic Atom Heart Mother (which he co-composed with them) in a very special pair of concerts, to be held on June 14th and 15th at London's Cadogan Hall (more details here).
They kick off the 2008 Chelsea Festival, and as you can see from the newly revealed Festival graphic [click thumbnail to the right], they are clearly seen as the key events for the organisers. Tickets went on sale this morning, and are going like the proverbial hotcakes! There are very few tickets left now, so if you are planning on attending what promises to be a VERY special event, don't delay, click here today!

As part of the 40th anniversary celebrations of Dutch venue the Paradiso, an excerpt of a TV programme called open oog (Open Eye) broadcast by the NTS broadcasting company (nowadays NOS) from 5 July 1968, is now online. It includes previously unseen footage of Pink Floyd playing at the Paradiso on May 31st of that year!
The footage is short, in black and white, and at times hard to make out which band member is on screen [click thumbnail to the left], but very interesting nonetheless. You can find it towards the end of the footage which you can see through this link. Our thanks to Charles at the specialist Floyd store, www.Floydstuff.com, for the info.

A DVD was released late last year which features a fascinating look at the wonderful world of the Mandelbrot set and fractal geometry. Narrated by the late Arthur C. Clarke, Colours Of Infinity includes a soundtrack provided by David Gilmour. Balancing the science of Benoît Mandelbrot's discoveries with absorbing imagery, David's instrumental music, unreleased elsewhere, is the perfect accompaniment.
Colours Of Infinity - previously only available with a 2004 book of the same name (more details here) - can now be seen on a DVD with three documentaries on it. Clouds Are Not Spheres looks closer at Mandelbrot's life, and Is God A Number? takes a closer look at mathematics.
The DVD can be ordered direct from Amazon UK and Amazon Germany - both of which will ship the disc worldwide. Our thanks to Hans Gerlitz for the info!
UPDATE, July 2018: The DVD has been reissued with a new cover, which is shown here. It is still available to purchase from Amazon and other retailers.
