In a new interview with AP, Roger Waters talks about the mass of new material he has been working on. "I have a ton of songs. Some of them are recorded, and some of them are half-recorded, and I keep promising myself that I'm gonna find a collaborator and work on them and put them together in some kind of coherent form. I suspect I will do that in some time in the near future. But it's strange how time keeps clicking away. And each page turns faster then the last, in my experience."
The interview also finds Roger talking about The Wall - first, the postponed Broadway production (still in the works) and also ponders his inspirations for The Wall, along with the possibility of another Pink Floyd reunion (which is, as expected, unlikely to ever happen). Read the complete, published version of the interview here.

Orion Books, who published Nick Mason's wonderful "Inside Out: A Personal History of Pink Floyd", and Guy Pratt's hilarious "My Bass and Other Animals", have another essential book in the works, due for publication on October 21st 2010.
"The Making of Pink Floyd: The Wall" will be a lavishly illustrated hardbacked book by Gerald Scarfe, detailing his work behind the scenes with Roger Waters and, later on, the film with Alan Parker. Roger's announcement of his tour of The Wall has come with perfect timing for this upcoming book, and Roger has been keen to help out where he can with material that has been approved for use within this, the authorised, definitive book of The Wall.
Having been very fortunate to have seen some sample pages and images, we know that this really will be a book that all Pink Floyd fans will love. We're sure you will be knocked out by the quality of the book, and the depth of insight and the promised, never-before-seen material, is quite breathtaking.
We'll be covering this book in detail as the publication date gets closer; in the meantime, secure your copy now, saving up to 15% off the retail price, by pre-ordering from Amazon UK, Amazon US/International, Amazon Canada, Amazon France, or Amazon Germany. You can also shortly order it through Play.com to take advantage of their special

On Thursday June 17th the Tunbridge Wells Forum will be playing host to four bands all inspired by the late Syd Barrett, the original singer, songwriter and lead guitarist in Pink Floyd. The four bands have come out in force to raise money for the Syd Barrett Fund, set up by his sister Rosemary Breen following his death in 2006. The fund exists to support the work of Escape Artists, a socially inclusive arts charity, based in Cambridgeshire and London.
The event is part of the Syd Barrett Fund's activity to mark forty years since Syd's debut solo album was released, something which the UK's number 1 music magazine Mojo published a cover feature celebrating earlier this year. The Tunbridge Wells Forum show follows a London to Cambridge walk organised by the Fund, which saw a group of Syd Barrett fans raise more than £2600 over Easter.
Tickets are £7, and can be bought now from TWForum.co.uk.

"Syd Barrett: A Very Irregular Head", the upcoming book by Rob Chapman, has received glowing reviews in today's UK press. Published by Faber and Faber on May 6th, 2010, it promises to be "the first authoritative and exhaustively researched biography of Syd Barrett that fully celebrates his life and
legacy as a musician, lyricist and artist, and which highlights the influence that he continues to have over contemporary bands and music fans alike."
With the book running to some 448 pages, and the help of Syd's sister Rosemary, it certainly sounds like there is plenty of information that Chapman has brought together to tell Syd's
story.
Today's Sunday Times called it "a gripping portrait of the final, reclusive years of the charismatic co-founder of Pink Floyd", and The Observer said that it was "a consistently illuminating, and often surprising, read. Syd is a looming presence here, an elusive to the point of spectral figure, who haunts the pages of this, the best book yet about him".
We'll bring you more about the book shortly, but in the meantime, you can take advantage of up to 40% discount off the recommended retail price, by ordering through the following links: Amazon UK, Amazon US/International, Amazon Canada, Amazon France, or Amazon Germany. You can also order it through Play.com to take advantage of their special pre-order pricing, too. As a sidenote, Amazon appear to be sending out the book already to early customers.
