Wow! Well, that came as no surprise to us - the intense flurry of interest in the official announcement of the first of Roger Waters Wall concerts to be held in 2010. Our thanks to the multitude of you who have emailed with your thoughts and questions, and to those who have posted on the Brain Damage Facebook fanpage too.
One of the concerns though, was the lack of shows outside North America. Well, we have some great news for all you who felt disappointed yesterday; an email we had forwarded on to us from the new RogerWaters.com website confirms that "more dates, including shows in Europe, will be announced in the near future". As soon as we have details of these, we will of course let you know. Stick with Brain Damage for all the confirmed information rather than relying on rumours and guesswork found on some other sites out there!

Today we finally have the official word on Roger Waters' confirmed dates for his 2010 The Wall tour. One of the greatest and most ambitious stagings of any kind in music history, The Wall will be back on the road in North America with a 35-date run starting on September 15th in Toronto and going through December 13th in Anaheim.
As most of our readers know, the initial stagings of The Wall proved to be some of the most logistically challenging undertakings of its time, with props and equipment weighing in at +30 tons, hence rendering the tour limited in mobility as the stage was "built-in" into each of the four venues that hosted the initial 31 performances of The Wall. But now with the advancement of technology and such, taking the show on the road has become more feasible and so, more fans will have the chance to see The Wall live, the concert event of a lifetime.

One of the major Pink Floyd cover bands from Argentina, "The End", will perform this month in Buenos Aires with guest performances (subject to contract) from none other than Jon Carin, Guy Pratt and Durga McBroom, giving the show some additional Floydian authenticity!
The show will be taking place at the Teatro Gran Rex on April 24th and 25th, 2010, at 9pm each evening. Located near the centre of the city, the Gran Rex is an Art Deco styled theatre which has been open since 1937. With over 3,000 seats, it is one of the most important venues in the city. The band themselves are reputed to be one of the better tribute bands, with a good live show.
With the addition of these three guests, it should make for a very interesting evening indeed. Tickets are now on sale through the normal outlets, and via ticketek.com.ar. Our thanks to Claudio D. Knaup for letting us know about this event.

One of (many) highlights for attendees of the 2008 Syd Barrett "City Wakes" Festival in Cambridge were the guided tour of the city that took in many of the more significant sites which were connected to the life and times of Syd, and the various bands which lead to Pink Floyd. Since then, the people behind the tour - friends of Syd, who grew up with him - have run their own special tours of Cambridge, to much acclaim.
They've now partnered with Brain Damage for a very special pair of tours, inviting you to discover some of Syd's 1960s Cambridge through the unique memories of those who knew him best, and who still live in the city.
