The official Gerald Scarfe website has just had a major overhaul. For a long time, the site has been an interesting destination, with information on Gerald - best known by Pink Floyd fans for his wonderful work on The Wall, but of course he started his association some years earlier providing a wonderful caricature of the band for the 1974 tour programme (comic).
The new website retains the biographical detail on Gerald's life and career, and news of recent and upcoming events and appearances, but has a dramatically expanded retail area. This part is worth a visit alone - the Pink Floyd section now includes a number of images which have not been revealed before, and these are available to purchase as high quality, signed limited editions direct from Gerald. So, not cheap, but should look stunning on your walls, and the range of images are fascinating to browse through, too. His other work (principally political material) is also well worth spending some time studying.
The website can be found at (unsurprisingly) www.GeraldScarfe.com.

As many of you are already aware, Friday night is Pink Floyd Night on the UK's BBC6 Music radio station this week, with a whole host of unmissable programmes scheduled. Included in this is the expanded version of "The Record Producers: Pink Floyd" at 9pm. For those who heard the show on Monday evening on BBC Radio 2, this will be an essential to hear even more of the exclusive, never before heard, and truly fascinating breakdowns of some of their biggest songs into each track as originally laid down in the studio.
Kicking off the evening though is "Now Playing @6Music" which airs between 7pm-9pm. This show aims to build "the ultimate Pink Floyd playlist" and the producer has been in touch with us as they want YOUR help in this! They want as many Brain Damage visitors as possible to help build this ultimate playlist based around everything Pink Floyd, including the band's own material, from rarities and album tracks to their finest moments, solo work, acts they've influenced, bands related to their early Joe Boyd-produced work, and bands with amazing live shows – something pioneered by Floyd.
You can suggest tracks to them via Facebook,

The US Best Buy store chain has come up with a special item released as part of the Why Pink Floyd remaster and collectors edition campaign, that Floyd collectors (and those after a sneak preview of things to come) will want to snap up.
Simply titled Pink Floyd Sampler, it comes in a specially designed gatefold card slipcase, just like the Discovery editions which were released this week. The first three of the six tracks to be found on this are Money, Wish You Were Here, and Another Brick In The Wall, part 2, all 2011 remaster versions, and no surprises with these inclusions on this sampler. Track four is Us and Them, live from Wembley 1974, as found on the Experience and Immersion DSOTM.
Tracks five and six are where the disc ventures into preview territory: first you have an 'Alternate' version of Have A Cigar, which features not only a completely different musical performance from the whole band, but also lists David Gilmour and Roy Harper on vocals (even though it seems to clearly be Roger Waters with Harper)! This comes with the upcoming Experience and Immersion editions of Wish You Were Here, and is wonderful to hear. Then there's a demo (and I think a band demo, from the sound of it) of Another Brick part 1. This will be on the Experience and Immersion editions of The Wall, coming in February 2012. Completely different lyrics and musical performance, and in sparkling quality, too.
Bestbuy.com are offering the sampler online, but for international buyers, you'll need to have an address in the US to get it delivered to, as they won't ship abroad unfortunately. Our thanks to Brad Kaplan for his help with the info.

One of the many pleasures of the current Why Pink Floyd remaster and collectors edition box set programme is the way that, wherever you turn, Pink Floyd are back in the press, on TV, or on the radio. It's about time!
Earlier this week, Nick Mason was interviewed on US satellite station XM/Sirius channel 26 'Classic Vinyl', on Thursday September 27th at 12 noon EST, and this hour long show can be heard via Youtube through the following links: part one, part two, part three, and part four.
Also, this time in the UK, Nick was on BBC Radio 4's Loose Ends on Monday. For those who missed this, you can still hear the interview with him, and the sneak preview of the Stephane Grappeli guest appearance on Wish You Were Here, via the BBC iPlayer service in selected countries. Our thanks to Jason Pyke and Kevin Whitlock for the info on this one.
This coming week doesn't let up on the Floyd front, and the BBC in the UK have scheduled a large amount of coverage, beginning tomorrow on BBC Radio 2, and peaking Friday night on BBC6 Music where their Pink Floyd Night runs from 7pm, right through to 4am the following morning! Here's the full schedule of what's coming up:

Just published is the latest issue (number 19) of the Pink Floyd fanzine "Heyou" run by our friends over at the Italian website of the same name.
The 52-page magazine in Italian and English includes plenty of news from
the last six months or so; there's a look at the Why Pink Floyd release programme, including SuperDeluxeEdition's interview with Andy Jackson, and Spinner's interview with Nick Mason. Author Russell Beecher is interviewed concerning his rather wonderful "Barrett" book. There's also a transcript of Werner Haider's interview with David Gilmour from September 2008
The final third of the magazine is taken up with an indepth look - illustrated with a number of photos - at the Milan 2011 stop-off for Roger Waters on his The Wall Live tour.
More details can be found at www.heyou.it/fsubscrbd.htm, where you can get individual
copies, and subscription enquiries (four issues costing 30 euros within
Europe, and 40 euros outside Europe) should go to
