The new issue (cover date February 2013) of the UK's Mojo Magazine, which hit UK stores today (December 31st) and was in the hands of subscribers a few days ago, includes an interview with a "twinkly" Roger Waters.
Whilst brief - it takes up a single page - fans will potentially want the magazine just for the two full page pictures of Roger - one of which dominating the Contents page, and the other, accompanying the interview and featuring a subtle snarl. The interview itself covers much familiar ground as it mainly concerns itself with the 2013 European return of The Wall. However, yet again he touches on the new material he has written, which he has a definite relish at pondering that "it may prove deeply unpopular in certain quarters"!
Elsewhere in the magazine, there is a look at the Rolling Stones concerts in London (leading on the rather outrageous ticket prices for the pair of shows), an interview with Robert Fripp, (separate) features on Etta James and Jools Holland, and a preview of 2013. Plus, free with Mojo is a CD coinciding with their extensive Johnny Marr feature.
It's in selected stores now, and shortly in other countries as an import, but you can order your copy right now through this special link. Our thanks to Kev Porter for his help.

In the Netherlands, the public station Radio 2 has a yearly countdown (from Christmas Day until New Year's Eve) of the 2000 best songs. Pink Floyd is in the list with eleven songs, of which three are in the top 10:
- No. 10: Comfortably Numb
- No. 7: Shine On You Crazy Diamond
- No. 6: Wish You Were Here
There is also a daily TV show associated with the radio program which highlights some of the songs from the list, and has a pop quiz etc..
On the final show of 2012, which is broadcast on Dutch National TV channel 3, they are airing what they note is an exclusive interview with Roger Waters. The show airs at 19:25hrs Dutch time, tomorrow (December 31st). More information about the show and the TV channel through this link. Our thanks to Vincent Jutten for all this information.

Nick Mason has stepped in to help save Foote's, the historic London music shop where he bought his first ever drum kit. Nick, along with the store's sales director, Rob Wilson, are buying the business (which will now re-open in a new location at 41 Store Street, Bloomsbury, London) from the family who has owned it since the '30s.
"I was very disappointed when I heard that Foote's was going to close because it is one of my great memories of being a young, budding drummer was going to the original shop and buying my very first kit for £7.50," he told ITV news. "The thing about a drum shop is that it's the place where information gets passed around. You hear about new things; if you need a drum lesson, the best place to go is probably a drum shop and ask them for advice. There's a drum culture that is centered on drum shops."
A slight disappointment for budding drummers who think they'll be buying from Nick himself: "I think I will try not to be too hands on. I doubt I'll be much help really…I don't think I'm going to be behind the counter on a regular basis."
This video from the Daily Telegraph website has Nick talking about his involvement:
