Back on 14th December, we revealed that Pink Floyd guitarist David Gilmour was taking a break from activities surrounding his forthcoming album and tour, to make a guest appearance in a special BBC comedy production, which aired this evening on BBC2 TV.

A new DVD has been announced, for release in the UK on 23rd January, which promises a close look at the career of former Pink Floyd frontman, Syd Barrett.

"Under Review", to be released on the Chrome Dreams label, promises "rare performance footage never before on DVD".

Despite the Christmas break, one aspect of David Gilmour's website (DavidGilmour.com) has been updated throughout on a daily basis.

The fascinating "blog" (aka weblog) has had news and information posted each day, along with an exclusive picture from the sessions taken by David's wife Polly. Whilst some of the pictures are of David, others are of the various musicians who are involved with the project, and as each day passes, little bits of information are appearing which are building a bigger picture of the line-up!

The end of the year has seen a number of polls with a retrospective look at the world of music. Pink Floyd, naturally, have figured heavily in the year where many new fans were welcomed following the band's headline-grabbing appearance at Live 8.
