Yesterday, Roger Waters was interviewed by legendary British TV presenter David Frost, on his "Frost Over The World" programme aired by Al Jazeera English TV channel. In the interview, Roger talks about the Wall in 1990, the history of the band (with a focus on meeting Syd Barrett, and the growth of that relationship), and the "inevitable" break-up of Pink Floyd.
The Live8 reunion is remembered fondly, and he mentions, particularly in light of Richard Wright's very sad passing, how the concert had "the small window of opportunity to actually play together for one last time, and it was very important to me that we did that - it was a terrific experience..."
Finally, he talks again about his hopes for the proposed Wall tour of 2010/2011, noting that he was currently "crunching all the numbers at the moment", and noted that the tour would "probably be later next year".
You can view the whole interview below. Our thanks to Min Ha for the info.

The CD single release of All You Need Is Love, the star-studded song performed in aid of the 2009 BBC Children In Need fundraiser, has now been released and is finally in good supply in stores now. With the proceeds going to such a good cause, the CD single is well worth buying even if you already have the album itself (called "Bandaged Together") as it features no less than three different versions of the track - the full track, the Pudsey Mix, and the Chapel Edit - all featuring the drumming and vocal of Nick Mason!
The video for the standard version can be viewed here. As you'll see, it features the multitude of musicians in the studio, all clearly having a whale of a time. It's the happiest Nick Mason performance we've seen for some time!
You can order the 3-track single through Amazon.co.uk - £1 from each copy sold will be donated to the Children In Need appeal. Full details of the album can be found here, and you can order it from www.CharityGoods.com.

Further to the stories we brought you back on November 21st and December 2nd about the discovery of the "holy grail" of early Syd Barrett-era Pink Floyd television footage, the band's performances of "See Emily Play" on the BBC's Top Of The Pops weekly music programme [right], we have the all-important ticketing information for the event for you.
The Top Of The Pops footage is included in a special screening event at the BFI Southbank in London. The Missing Believed Wiped event takes place on January 9th, and is in two chunks. The second of these, starting at 6:30pm, is called Music, Music, Music and is the one to go for to see this incredibly rare Floyd footage, possibly for its one and only screening!
Priority booking for BFI members opens at 11:30am today (Tuesday, December 8th) online, by post, by phone (020 7928 3232) and in person. For members of the general public, tickets go on sale from December 15th. Alternatively, you can join the BFI today and be in with a better chance of tickets. More details of all this and more, at www.BFI.org.uk.

Many of you will be aware of "The Black Strat: A History Of David Gilmour's Black Fender Stratocaster", the superb book written by Phil Taylor, David's long-term guitar technician, studio manager, production director and much more [review here]. It takes a careful and detailed look at one of rock's most iconic instruments. Rather than a dry, technical manual, suited only to those who already know guitars inside and out, it is a rewarding and accessible book that Pink Floyd fans the world over will thoroughly enjoy, packed with truly rare pictures that you won't have seen before.
For a limited period, those who haven't snapped it up already should head over to Amazon who are doing it at a very special price. With the UK, US and Canadian branches of the online store discounting it by up to 37% off the normal price, it's the perfect time to grab it for yourself, or as a great Christmas gift for a friend. You can order it at this special price through Amazon UK, Amazon US/International, or Amazon Canada. Amazon Germany and Amazon France have it, but not at such a discount - however, all Amazon stores ship worldwide so you won't miss out on this special pricing.

The recently released documentary "Monty Python - Almost The Truth (The Lawyers Cut)", celebrates the British comedy troup's 40th birthday, blending brand new interviews with the surviving members, along with clips from the TV shows, the movies, and from live performances. The complete six hour TV series, directed by Alan Parker, is expanded with even more material - the 3xDVD and 2xBluray sets include additional interviews, sketches, images and more.
Of interest to Pink Floyd fans (and we suspect there are many who are joint Floyd/Python fans!) is the appearance of Nick Mason in episodes two and four, talking of how "[Monty Python] were anti-establishment, but not... I mean... A lot of the jokes were again this thing about becoming a little bit more, not abstract, but the sort of madness of it." Nick also talks of how the band helped fund the making of Holy Grail, and also of his love of "The Lumberjack Song" - "it's a great song perfect for live performances."
The Bluray version can be ordered from Amazon UK, Amazon.com, Amazon Canada, Amazon Germany, or Amazon France, and the DVD version from Amazon UK, Amazon.com, Amazon Canada, Amazon Germany, or Amazon France. Our thanks to Jon Rosenbaum for the info.
