Released recently is the new Jackie Leven CD, Boîte de Pandore, which includes three tracks featuring guitar work from David Gilmour.
The tracks were originally from an unreleased Doll By Doll album entitled A Last Flick of the Golden Wrench, and are called "Meet Me at the Top of the World", "Heartbeat", and "Last Summer".
Leven was the singer and head of Doll By Doll, a band who enjoyed quite a cult following. Their albums are finally getting a CD release, and Boîte de Pandore is a sort of supplement to these. Bizarrely, one of the tracks has a brief interlude of Leven walking down the street, due to him having the recorder he did the demo on, being in his pocket and accidentally hitting the record button!
Our thanks to Folkert Wagenaar for the information, pictures, and help with this article. For more information on Leven, visit www.jackieleven.co.uk, although his site doesn't yet mention this album...

One of the earliest shows announced on the Roger Waters 2011 Wall Live tour of Europe, was the May 30th show at the Palais Omnisports de Paris Bercy. However, much to the frustration of many, actual ticketing details have remained unknown and elusive - until now! Tickets will finally go on sale for this show September 17th at 10am, through FNACSpectacles.com. One of the more popular venues on the tour, and currently the only show in France, tickets are bound to sell quickly.
As with all the other shows on the tour, this concert has its own dedicated page, which will gradually build into a detailed resource for this show, complete with concert reviews, pictures, and more. All contributions for any of the shows Roger will be performing in 2010 and 2011 are most welcome; we are still in need of a number of ticket scans/pictures for various shows - please check any concerts you've got tickets for, and if you don't see a ticket scan on the relevant page, please can you send a picture of yours over?

As most of you are aware, there are many Pink Floyd tribute bands and shows across the world, bringing good music (played with varying degrees of success!) to local pubs, clubs, halls and even major arenas. With the sheer number of them, it is impossible to provide coverage of these bands, but occasionally there are rare exceptions.
However, the incredibly popular Australian Pink Floyd show are old friends - they first performed in the UK back in 1993 at the debut Brain Damage fan convention - and they have just announced their 2011 plans for a greatest hits tour of Europe, involving 3D technology for the visuals!
The tour, which includes a number of ex-Floyd crew amongst its team, promises an "even bigger and better show, the trademark lighting and laser show", and "a brand new quadraphonic sound system and cinema quality 3D visuals". The technology they'll be using is the same as used in 3D cinemas, where the audience wears 3D polarized glasses. Sounds intriguing in a concert setting, with quad sound...

To help celebrate the 35th anniversary of the release of Pink Floyd's Wish You Were Here album, the respected US radio broadcaster Redbeard is airing a special show this week in North America. His "In The Studio" specials have built a great reputation due to their mix of detailed interview and music.
The show has recent interviews with all the band members, and can be heard across North America - check his website for participating radio stations, and then local listings for exact time and date of broadcast.
Through the wonders of the internet, for the first time this particular special can be heard worldwide at www.InTheStudio.net, where you can also find some of his other Pink Floyd specials to stream at your convenience, along with a rare full interview with the late Richard Wright, on what WYWH meant to him.

Our
heartiest best wishes go to Roger Waters, who celebrates his 67th birthday today (Monday, September 6th)!
Roger was born in Great Bookham, Surrey, in 1943, moving to Cambridge when he was two years old. It was there that he met, and became childhood friends with, a number of key people in the story of Pink Floyd. We - the Brain Damage team, and quite a number of our visitors who have asked us to pass on their best wishes, too - hope you have a great day, Roger. Many happy returns!
Of course, with the 2010 Wall Live tour just about to start, Roger probably won't have much time for birthday cake today; life is surely even busier there than here as the days count down! Following on from yesterday's story about the Helsinki tickets going on sale this morning, within 30 minutes they'd all gone and a second night - April 28th, 2011, at the Hartwall Areena - was added. Tickets go on sale tomorrow morning at 9:30am...
