An American auction house, Backstage Auctions, has announced "The Spotlight Auction" featuring rare and one of a kind rock collectibles from a group of music industry professionals. Amongst the items on offer are a couple of cassette tapes featuring unedited interviews with Pink Floyd's David Gilmour.

Pink Floyd on John Peel tribute album Print E-mail

We recently brought you news of two upcoming releases that are tributes to the late DJ John Peel, both of which have an involvement with one or more members of Pink Floyd.

The single that is coming out - a cover of The Buzzcocks hit Ever Fallen In Love - is being released on 21st November, and all proceeds will be going to the charity Amnesty International. Sir Elton John is the latest big name to join those performing on the single, which includes Robert Plant, Roger Daltrey and David Gilmour.

Robert Wyatt's 1974 concert with Nick Mason - CD release Print E-mail

The heavily bootlegged recording of a special 1974 concert is finally getting an official release next week (10th October).

On Sunday September 8th 1974, just a year or so after the accident that has left him in a wheelchair ever since, Robert Wyatt, aided and abetted by a distinguished array of friends, including Mike Oldfield, Ivor Cutler, and Pink Floyd's Nick Mason, played an historic concert at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, London.

Roger Waters news wrap-up Print E-mail

Roger Waters was in Rome this week, holding a press conference to officially launch his newly release opera, Ca Ira, and to talk about the concert being held in the Italian city next month.

It coincided with the news that the album went straight in to the the Billboard Traditional Classical Chart at number 1, in its first week in stores.

Around fourteen minutes of Roger talking at the press conference can be seen via the video downloads at the Italian Kataweb site. The site has an interesting collection of eight video clips, with Roger talking in detail about Ca Ira and the Live 8 reunion (in which he says about the chance of another reunion: "Maybe!").

During the press conference, a number of the performers taking part in the semi-staged concert performances on November 17th and 18th at the Santa Cecilia Hall of the Auditorium Parco Della Musica, were revealed.

David Gilmour denies reunion tour claims Print E-mail

UK tabloid newspaper the Daily Star today printed a story from its "sources close to Pink Floyd", talking about a reunion tour, which quickly prompted an official statement from David Gilmour's publicist this morning, which we've been asked to pass on to you.

David has, today, stated firmly that "there are NO PLANS for Pink Floyd to tour in the foreseeable future". It was also pointed out that the comments attributed to him in the newspaper are a complete fabrication.
