Brain Damage and A Fleeting Glimpse

Pink Floyd 1968WELCOME TO THE 26th YEAR OF BRAIN DAMAGE, YOUR PINK FLOYD, DAVID GILMOUR, NICK MASON, SYD BARRETT, RICHARD WRIGHT AND ROGER WATERS NEWS RESOURCE!

It's 2025! This year sees the 50th anniversary of Wish You Were Here, which is an incredible thought; where does the time go?!

The stunningly restored and remixed Pink Floyd At Pompeii MCMLXXII on Blu-ray, 2CD, 2LP, DVD, digital and cinema screenings are now here - with some more cinema screenings in selected places. However you experience it, it is NOT to be missed!

There's also been three Record Store Day releases released on April 12th, from David Gilmour, Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets, and Roger Waters which are also definitely worth tracking down, either in a participating store, or online, now that RSD has finished.

Last year, David Gilmour's superb new album, Luck and Strange, was released in a variety of formats, and a selection of coloured vinyls. A limited number of concert dates thrilled crowds in Brighton and London, England, Rome, Italy, and Los Angeles and New York, USA. Rome shows were filmed for release at some point...watch this space!

The Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets 2024 Set The Controls tour revealed a band in even better form than the 2022/23 shows which managed to exceed everyone's hopes and expectations! Our sincerest hopes are that they continue, but in the meantime, there's the RSD release, and the earlier live recording from London's Roundhouse on Blu-ray, DVD/2CD, and 2LP which is really excellent.

Of course, Roger Waters read three extracts from his memoirs in October 2023 at the London Palladium, so it might not be too long before that is published...he's also working on his new album based around The Bar - we'll let you know as soon as we get all the info! Before all that though is the release of Roger Waters This Is Not A Drill Live In Prague on 4LP vinyl, Blu-ray, DVD, 2CD and digital on August 1st!

Roger WatersIn a general wrap-up of Roger Waters news this morning, we start with the acclaimed Love for Levon charity concert which featured Roger Waters as part of an all-star lineup of musicians, and was held at the Izod Center in East Rutherford, New Jersey back on March 19th.

"Love For Levon" also featured John Mayer, Bruce Hornsby, Ray LaMontagne, Gregg Allman, Joe Walsh of The Eagles, and many others. With thanks to BD regular Kees Nijpels, we've got some great news for international fans. The Blu-ray release of the concert has been listed as an American (Region A) disc, but Kees confirms that it plays on European (Region B) Blu-ray player without any issues. LFL has only been released in North America, so to get your hands on a copy use the following direct links:

- 2 x Blu-ray and 2 x CD set: order from Amazon.com or Amazon Canada
- 2 x Blu-ray set: order from Amazon.com or Amazon Canada

In other Waters related news, there's another performance of Ca Ira coming up this year, to follow on from the four shows in São Paulo, Brazil, in May. The opera is being performed on August 13th, 2013, at Götaplatsen, which is a public square in Gothenburg, Sweden, at the southern end of Kungsportsavenyn (The King's Gate Avenue), the city's main street. Anders Lindholtz tells us that the opera is kicking off the annual culture festival in the city, which runs from August 13th - 18th, and of course, Roger himself is in Gothenburg to perform at the Ullevi Stadium on August 17th. More details and ticketing information here.

Talking of Roger's 2013 Wall tour... Remko Bak has told us that the Gelredome website have noted that "Roger will be rehearsing for the tour in the Gelredome the days before the gig". He is performing there as the opening show of the tour, on July 18th, and tickets go on general sale on Friday through this direct Ticketmaster link. For those in the immediate area in the run-up to the show, you might get to hear some of the rehearsals!

Finally, Roger's career retrospective in New York City at the 92nd Street Y, scheduled for April 30th, has just been rescheduled to June 19th, 2013. Tickets for the event are now sold out; ticket-holders should hold on to their tickets as they will be valid for the new date.
