Brain Damage and A Fleeting Glimpse

Pink Floyd 1987WELCOME TO THE 26th YEAR OF BRAIN DAMAGE, YOUR PINK FLOYD, DAVID GILMOUR, NICK MASON, SYD BARRETT, RICHARD WRIGHT AND ROGER WATERS NEWS RESOURCE!

It's 2025! This year sees the 50th anniversary of Wish You Were Here, which is an incredible thought; where does the time go?!

We now know that Pink Floyd At Pompeii MCMLXXII on Blu-ray, 2CD, 2LP, DVD, digital and cinema screenings are on their way, with the releases on May 2nd, and the cinema screenings shortly before. NOT to be missed!

There's also been three Record Store Day releases released on April 12th, from David Gilmour, Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets, and Roger Waters which are also definitely worth tracking down, either in a participating store, or online, now that RSD has finished.

Last year, David Gilmour's superb new album, Luck and Strange, was released in a variety of formats, and a selection of coloured vinyls. A limited number of concert dates thrilled crowds in Brighton and London, England, Rome, Italy, and Los Angeles and New York, USA. Rome shows were filmed for release at some point...watch this space!

The Nick Mason's Saucerful Of Secrets 2024 Set The Controls tour revealed a band in even better form than the 2022/23 shows which managed to exceed everyone's hopes and expectations! Our sincerest hopes are that they continue, but in the meantime, there's the RSD release, and the earlier live recording from London's Roundhouse on Blu-ray, DVD/2CD, and 2LP which is really excellent.

Of course, Roger Waters read three extracts from his memoirs in October 2023 at the London Palladium, so it might not be too long before that is published...he's also working on his new album based around The Bar - we'll let you know as soon as we get all the info!

Pink Floyd The Wall film retrospective exhibitionAs we exclusively revealed toward the end of April, to celebrate the upcoming 30th anniversary of the motion picture 'Pink Floyd: The Wall', on-set stills photographer David Appleby is honouring the fans of the acclaimed visual rock masterpiece, with an exhibition of stunning behind-the-scenes images taken during the production of 'The Wall'.

On display, there will be over 40 traditionally and painstakingly hand-printed black and white silver gelatin prints from the original negatives, by Silverbase of The Photographic Centre which is within the legendary Pinewood Studios - where some of the film was shot. Other images are due to be displayed too.

Brain Damage has had an exclusive preview of the pictures involved, and we know that those who are able to attend will be in for a treat. There are some wonderful, intimate moments, along with iconic moments from the production but from a unique perspective. Most have never been seen before, having been discovered lurking in a store room at Pinewood since they were originally shot and developed.

The exhibition will be at Blackall Studios in Shoreditch, London, between July 13th-18th, shortly before the 2012 Olympics hit the capital. The private view of the exhibition, on the evening of July 12th, will strive to raise plenty of cash for the charity "Medicinema", and we have five pairs of tickets for this exclusive event for Brain Damage visitors!

To be in contention for a pair of tickets, simply tell us who was driving the taxi when Bob Geldof was offered the role of 'Pink' for the film. Email your answer to This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it with your full name and home address. You got until 11:59pm (GMT) on Wednesday, July 4th, so don't delay with your entry... and good luck!
